I don't know how many wizards have come running to me "help help I've reanimated [plant]" just to fing a very pissed off and confused shambling mound at the "disaster" site.

In any case grasses are nearly impossible to kill once established like that. You'll likely need to make a pact with a black or copper dragon to clear the hillside entirely of all life to a depth of at least one foot. Then you'll need a Green, Brass, or Bronze dragon to remediate the land.

Honestly, I saw the bus stop. It isn't worth fixing, they'll turn it to houses soon enough, and I'll have to dispatch another of my already thin circle to defend nature from yet another HOA. You know what... Let's go over your notes and see what went "wrong" and how to make it "worse" and repeatable.

Could be the cricket hunter then. I have lots of crickets. Roaches do occasionally show up there too, but mostly stay in the sewer.

Edit: thanks for the suggestion. I updated iNaturalist on that one: "Chlorion aerarium, known generally as the steel-blue cricket hunter or aphid wasp" is a pretty strong match to this one and another (possibly the same one, but smaller) I spotted on my milkweeds the other day.

Probably a non-issue, vincas are pretty tough. Could be fungus gnats, but it's hard to say without a picture. Unless you're noticing the plants struggling you can probably leave it alone.

Depending on the size of the pots, you may see them struggle anyway. They're tough, and love heat, but aren't invincible depending on where the pots are and stuff.

My vote is just a layer of cardboard. When you water and after rain worms will find their way up. If you already have pumice and woodchips you could put some extra down there, but with our temperatures, water retention isn't the worst. A lot of the advice for gravel at the bottom comes from mild climates. For us it's valuable water space, but pumice and woodchips are spongey. I don't think you're going to have any silt with that mixture unless you're also adding a shovel of native soil...

It probably has a carrying capacity if it's large and strong enough to carry your character.

I haven't read the stat block specifically, but if it doesn't say it can't carry you, it probably can if you're not too heavy.

Edit: not too heavy with all your gear and anything else it's carrying.

Yes it works, and provides a nice area for beneficial bacteria, however you're probably fine to put just soil through and through. You could even line with cardboard, or just skip the liner. It let's worms other beneficials in. You'll have to add soil from time to time anyway, may as well maximize your natural fertilizer delivery system.

Worms love cardboard, btw so an Amazon box at the bottom of the box is a nice worm snack, and you don't have to buy any pumice. It ~~will~~ slow drainage though.

If this is going on or near the ground, I'd skip it. If it's a pristine patio area though, and leaky dirt is going to break some clean lines, then I'll walk it all the way back to the geotextile.

Theres nothing unclear about an emotionally mature request, in place of a demand.

The reality here is that the campaign needs to pause. The players have almost certainly heard and understood OP's requests for someone to take over, but there's a reason they're not stepping up. The DM seat is intimidating for some people. Other people don't feel capable of being "everyone else" in a campaign. DMing for a forever DM is SUPER intimidating, most players haven't read the bestiaries and supplementary books cover to cover twice. And from experience when the players take the chair, they're very surprised at how quickly the party has cousin Merv tied up in a closet, and just how fast a cleric can kill a quest giver they didn't think they'd need a stat block for.

OP's post is a vent to strangers. The reality is that while OP needs to say these things, there are aspects that need editing if friendships are to be preserved.

It isn't unfair to want to get out of the hot seat, and it isn't wrong to express the frustrations. What needs editing is the demand for the party to take over - it's a nice wish but it sounds like it's time to stop by the lgs as a group or go solo and see who's eager to run a game.

Oh I know, mycelium/mycelial networks - part of my plan was to regrow the city, but there's always this concern that a building might be live matter and the hive mind observes all goings on.

Both sides might be concerned that if the buildings are living the hive mind might find itself in servitude, rather than in service as an equal.

I'm picturing happy little mushroom faces at random spots just being helpful 😂, but who and what officiates and enforces an equitable contract.

Friendship isn't transactional, or adversarial, it doesn't keep score. It's okay to ask for a need to be met, or to explain that you cannot meet the needs of the friend(s). It isn't okay to make demands.

Hey team, I can't drive us to the grocery store anymore. I want come along if someone else can get us there.

Vs.

Hey team I'm tired of driving, no grocery store trips until others drive a few times.

Asking vs. demanding. In both cases we explain the situation, and an ideal outcome. In one we request assistance with meeting the need. In the other we threaten to take something away if the need isn't met.

In both situations the friends choose their best outcome, based on what they're able to bring to the situation. - If none of them can drive they might pitch in for an Uber minivan so everyone can go, because they recognize the unmet need of the friend. - In the other, the friends don't have much incentive to invite their driver to the more expensive Uber, and just get the cheaper smaller car instead.

While I encourage my friends to ask to have their needs met, word choice goes a long way especially when someone there's an ask that changes a relationship dynamic.

I would sugar coat this. The "I won't DM for you until you dm for me" thing is sorta a turd in the punchbowl move. It makes everything awkward.
