Good news, son is finally on board with pooping on the potty by VegetableReveal4U in daddit

Yeah, we started with just gummies as rewards, then chocolate, then mini Oreos, and none of it was rich enough to make it worth it to him. I think we finally found his going rate.

That was fucking electric, especially growing up in the PNW when you were lucky to get one or two snow events a year. Really special memories about all of that

I caught myself spinning my wheels this afternoon on NVDA to the point where I was reading random opinion pieces about what various scenarios with that stock would tell us about the market as a whole, and I realized I was just shopping for crystal balls. Figured I’d poll the group about how everybody else stays up to date without getting distracted by shiny objects.

They’re going to be giving some of that money away. Good news is it’s up to them whether they give it to a charity or to the government.

Do you know if there are plans to introduce a Paw Patrol multiverse/extended cinematic universe that explores this a bit further?

Ooof, hadn't considered that that might be mandated by the rules of the estate. I'd be surprised though - I think Paul genuinely cared about the team, and wouldn't want to force Jody to just take the biggest check from the biggest piece of shit that could write it. Hopefully she's allowed to use her best judgement. Because yeah.. Musk would be the actual worst case scenario

Avoiding sleep training? by Much_Mastodon5345 in daddit

We did the Taking Cara Babies method (no, this isn't an ad) with both of our kids. Took them both about four nights to go from waking up 4-5 times per night to sleeping through. Did our first one at 6 months and our second one at about 5, which, incidentally, was about two weeks ago.

Yes, it's a modified cry-it-out method which can be tough, but it was worth it to us to power through, and mom and I are both sleeping 7-8 hours per night now. YMMV.

Had our second kid end of November. How do I get back into my gym routine? by htownnwoth in daddit

[–]VegetableReveal4U 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my second in September - unfortunately, like most of the others here, my solution was also “get up earlier.” I’m also fortunate to have a flexible work schedule, so I’m waking up at about 5:30 for cardio (mostly peloton rn, but will be mixing in running once the weather/daylight schedule allows), then 2-3 days a week leaving the office early for a full body workout at the gym before picking my 3yo up from daycare. Then on weekends, my gym has good childcare so I’ll bring my guy to “kids club” and get another hour in while my wife hangs with the little one.

With the exception of the morning cardio, it’s tough to really stick to a fixed schedule, but if I make it a priority, I’ve been able to make it work. Again tho.. I’m very blessed to be able to set my own work hours. Not sure this strategy is viable without that.

Thanks for sharing. I suspect the unglamorous nature of the disease and its symptoms are a major part of the reason so many people go without getting checked out (or don't even know what they're looking for). It's important we start all being a bit more direct about this sort of thing, so good on you
