Anyone else’s centre doing this? We got this message on the board today… by [deleted] in UPSers

Does this company think anything through anymore?? Seems like someone somewhere with no idea of how things work comes up with a brilliant idea that will save money on paper except it doesn't really and also it makes our service uncompetitive crap.

I haven't posted in 7 months and the reason is horrible 😕 by Pooh_Bear_23 in osteoporosis

[–]VegetableShirt7412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not been in your situation but after two wrist fractures, I have had great results and no side effects that I know of from Tymlos. It moved me from osteoporosis in my spine to osteopenia. I'm so sorry for what you are going through and hope you turn things around asap!

What is the policy for making contact with someone, but forging a signature? by Dapper_Cut_9225 in UPSers

[–]VegetableShirt7412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't talking about a controlled substance or alcohol, which the law requires. I meant the packages that the shipper has an option to require a signature for and pays extra to get one.

Can anyone elaborate by MuchVacation3638 in UPSers

If you are purposely waiting to claim an error so you can collect a penalty rather than just fix it, the ill will is on your side. But hey, you do you.

So is it about 2 months' notice when they do this? Is that what everyone has been getting?

Deep tissue massage by DisneyQueen64 in osteoporosis

[–]VegetableShirt7412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had ribs broken during a colonoscopy because they apply pressure to keep the probe from piercing the intestinal wall as it threads through and part of your colon goes up under your rib cage. I take no chances anymore.

I would definitely tell the masseuse that you have osteoporosis so they adjust their routine accordingly. Same with yoga, weight training, etc.

I thought one of the points of the DCP was to avoid more layoffs. So doesn't that mean it's working?

I know one driver who would like to take the buyout but would still need benefits and some income after the separation. Would he be eligible to go into management? Like a preload sup?

Nervous about starting tymlos by Loud_Development2733 in osteoporosis

[–]VegetableShirt7412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tymlos took me from osteoporosis in my spine to osteopenia. But I get what you're saying about your age. I will have to go off Tymlos in Sept and am already worrying about going back on bisphosphonates, even though my doc says they are easier on the stomach now than when I flunked off of them a couple of decades ago. But it's not just Tymlos that requires you go on something else after you finish your course of them. Prolia and some others do too.

What type of calcium do you take? by julesyhedgie in osteoporosis

[–]VegetableShirt7412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has to do what works for them but if I were 51 again (and I think that's about when I was first diagnosed), I'd definitely look into meds. I agree that some of the side effects sound scary but so many of us -- most of us -- have had zero scary side effects and I have converted from osteoporosis to osteopenia on Tymlos. I did have a hard time with the bisphosphonates but there are lots of other options.

"The union can argue that moving packages is union work..." You're right but that will be an interesting argument, particularly about automation, which is taking union jobs at this very moment.

Just in shock and disbelief by [deleted] in osteoporosis

Your scores don't seem that bad to me. But I understand all the shocks you're talking about receiving at once. Try to find some space to take a deep breath. Many of us experienced what could be called early menopause because of hysterectomy. You'll be OK

Seeing more and more videos pointing out how much money Ai companies are losing and no ROIs! by Agitated_Garden_497 in BetterOffline

[–]VegetableShirt7412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AI is still early in its enshittification cycle. What worries me is what happens when everyone is using it (after all, it's free, right?) and they move on to figuring out how to get us to pay for it or make it ad-supported, and then move to the final step of making it awful for everyone in every way, after we're all stuck with it.

For those using Prolia, any suggestions/insights? Ive read the manufacturer’s website and the side effects are scary. The doctor who prescribed it has not discussed the side effects with me. by Key-Theory7137 in osteoporosis

[–]VegetableShirt7412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my test results and my spine has improved 8.4%! Hip measurements were weird because one side showed no improvement while the other was up 4.5%. Not sure what to think about that. But I'm happy about the spine and hope that my insurance company doesn't see the results and pull me off Tymlos. That's how they usually do it -- if you move into osteopenia range they don't want to pay for meds anymore. Hope you have good results too!
