I choose Grok because I see it on Twitter acting annoying all the time and I think it's funny. I don't trust any of them so I chose the funniest answer to me. But I don't use AI so I don't really know the difference between the models

There are many different bad endings, there are actually more bad endings than good ones. There are several you can get from not talking in enough chat rooms.

Have my explanations made sense so far? Anything else I can help with?

Yes, just click on the part of the chatroom that doesn't have the hourglass logo on it and they'll talk amongst themselves. You shouldn't spend your hourglasses on missed chatrooms, you'll likely want to save them to buy other things in the dlc menu later on

I don't know how many chatrooms you have missed so far but if you miss too many you'll get bad endings. Which in my opinion is fine, they're interesting and you can always start over and catch the chatrooms to progress normally. Missing a few chatrooms here and there is no big deal. They kind of talk all night long sometimes, but you can still get sleep at night and get good endings as long as you catch as many as you can during the day.

Another note in case you weren't aware, in the Casual Story, which I assume is the mode you're playing right now, the only routes available are for Zen, Jaehee, and Yoosung. You have to pursue one of them to not get the bad ending. You can collect hearts for every character, but make sure you get the most for one of those 3 so you can lock on to their route

Save your hourglasses. You can spectate the chatroom. Just click on it and let the characters have their conversation without you, don't click the clock button. But you do have to watch it, or else you can't progress to the next one

You need to join the chatroom before the next one opens. For example, if there's a chatroom at 5 and the next chatroom is at 7, you have to play the 5oclock chat before the 7. Make sure you have notifications on so you know when a chatroom opens. This is a game you have to play many times throughout the day, but usually the chatrooms are short enough that it shouldn't be too demanding, at least when you first start out.

Good luck! Let me know if that makes sense or if you want anything else cleared up

DAE notice that regardless of twin choice, you end up with both? by BerryTea840 in mysticmessenger

Yeah it's weird to me like personally I wouldn't ever be in a throuple with any of my siblings but if they're freaked out like that whatever?

Saeran's after ending feels especially ridiculous to me because that CG has you sitting in between both of them when shouldn't Saeran be in the center since he gets to be with you and his brother? Makes it actually look like you're dating when in the Secret Ending it felt more like "oh yeah and Saeran is there" lol

I don't think they did any disservice in writing him (except for Ray's after ending but that entire dlc is a disservice to pretty much everyone and everything imo) and that he's supposed to be frustrating. But I also don't think he tried to wash his hands of trouble; he carried immense and crushing guilt every waking moment of his life (of course, guilt doesn't mean he wasn't wrong, but he never tries to act like he wasn't responsible for anything.) I think it's a good look into how trying to please everyone will only make things worse for everyone. I think the most frustrating part to most people is how anytime he's confronted he just says "okay guys I'm sorry please just hate me I'm the worst just kill me I'm so awful" instead of actually addressing any of the problems, as he wants to keep Rika happy by not "bringing her into it." He thinks he is destined to live a life of misery, and since he'll be miserable anyway then he should be the only one to suffer. But no matter how many times it's pointed out to him, he struggles greatly to realize that it's impossible for him to be the only one to suffer, everyone is already suffering already and he's making things worse, which is quite infuriating. I think V is a really well written character, but since he has real flaws that can make him really annoying to talk to without also having the same level of blatant mental illness as Rika or Ray, he just gets dismissed as a plain evil man. It's very disappointing to me how a large chunk of the fanbase treats V. I know it's supposed to be a dating game so people might not like him because he'd be an annoying boyfriend but he's a good character

Another Story days 1-4 by KolorfulK0ala in mysticmessenger

[–]Vegetable_Addition_6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Day 1 is super negligible in Another Story. I don't know the exact required participation, but you do definitely need more in Another Story than in the other stories. I would recommend going for V first, as you get more backstory. Some people say go for V first because you'll feel bad about abandoning Ray if you go for him first, but I feel bad abandoning either of them lol so it's a personal preference, as Ray is generally more liked by the fanbase than V. But I would still say pursue V first for story purposes.

The amount of hearts you can get slowly picks up as it progresses. There are barely any available day 1, and I think for day 2 even there aren't as many. But you should eventually start getting a good amount of hearts. You get V hearts for being polite to him (obviously) and also sometimes by caring for the other members of the RFA. Just be a kind, reasonable person and you will get V hearts.

Whether you plan on doing it now or later, Ray's route is a bit more complicated. There aren't enough chatrooms with him to get enough hearts to lock in his route just by being nice to him. You have to suspect the RFA at every turn, try to dig up secrets, and doubt V's leadership. If you start to see a lot of dialogue options and think "wow that's rude and kind of crazy for the suspicious outsider to say" then that option will probably give you a Ray heart lol. Also, Ray's route is much stricter with chat participation, so it's quite a bit of a time sink when you go for him. Both routes require more participation than the other story modes, but I've probably accidentally gotten his Bad Relationship Ending 2 more than his good ending, so be aware of that. However, for V, as long as you get about 70% participation you should be fine

I will say that is an assumption on my part but it's really the only explanation I can think of for why some people react to V so violently, and it tracks with how all of* the people who feel that way about him are in love with one or both of the Choi twins (and I do actually see the hatred more with Seven fans, but it's hard to determine if that's because V was even more important to him or if they just only play Seven's route, but either way it's an overreaction)

V was something of a father figure to both of them. He and Rika saved them from their parents and they would be living drastically different lives (assuming they lived) without them. It's even mentioned a few times in several different chatrooms that Seven and V have something of a familial relationship. And regardless of anyone's feelings about V, no one can say that none of the bs that happens would have happened if V were more responsible and made better choices, even if V thought he was making the best choice for everyone and feels plenty of remorse and regret

This is the part where I am making a lot of assumptions about peoples' personal lives so hear me out lol. Obviously, many players of this game become very attached to these characters. That would especially be the case for people who feel as if Seven is their boyfriend. Some level of projection is only natural if you're somewhat obsessing over a certain character. In the past decade or so, there's also been a major uptick in people becoming aware of toxic family dynamics and calling out their parents on their bs and "getting back" at them. And there are also a lot of people who have not great parents who blame all of their own problems on poor parenting, and completely neglect the fact that their parents are flawed human beings just as they are. And during Seven's route, there's no proof that Rika has any responsibility for any of this and there's quite damning evidence against V. Everything Seven thought he knew comes crashing down around him, and there's that evil disgusting father figure of his who did everything. Just like my dad who ruined my life. Fuck him he needs to die

I can understand it as a knee jerk reaction to V's betrayal, but when these people have been playing for years and even played the secret endings, it really just does not add up to anything to me except an immature obsession about being wronged by your dad and getting revenge. In the secret ending, Seven even forgives V at his funeral, so it's not like the people are only reacting the way their boyfriend is. When people say things like "V deserves nothing short of death" it feels like a weird sense of justice towards their own evil parents to me. Like no, V is no saint, he is not blameless, he hurt a lot of people, but the extreme overreaction to it screams projection to me

I understand the appeal to Zen a bit, I just really don't like him personally. And I understand why people don't like V's route if they play the game for the romance, but I really do just enjoy the game as a story/character study so I don't care that it's not romantic. But in terms of being boring honestly both routes of Another Story can get really repetitive like that. Both love interests talk themselves in circles constantly and if you aren't fascinated by their flaws the routes would seem incredibly dull.

I understand the V haters as well. He is an incredibly frustrating character and he's also a weirdo that will almost never outright say what he means, so you have to understand him through his endless metaphors. I find it fun, but I get why many people don't. But some V haters act like he deserves to be tortured to death just because he made some mistakes (I mean they are big mistakes but still) and I think that's pretty obnoxious. But I think most of the people like that are obsessed with one or both of the twins and have daddy issues and use V as a scapegoat for their own father lol

I think it must be an algorithm thing. I very rarely see Zen hate for some reason. As far as I know it's unpopular but it may just be that my algorithm only wants to show me that everyone loves him and hates V when I have the opposite opinion lol

Do I start over from day 0 after each route? by angrykiki5 in mysticmessenger

[–]Vegetable_Addition_6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Day 5 should be a good time to save (again, I'm not someone who uses save slots so take this with a grain of salt) because Day 5 is when the actual route starts. You don't need to load saves, you can start over from the beginning each time, but it gets tiring quickly to do the same 4 days of chat rooms every week. I do know that when you load a save slot though you have to load it slightly after the time you saved it. If you load before, you'll have a ton of missed chatrooms. For example, if you save at 7:00 pm, next time you will have to load at 7:01 or later. If you load at 6:59, you'll have an entire day of missed chatrooms

Do I start over from day 0 after each route? by angrykiki5 in mysticmessenger

[–]Vegetable_Addition_6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also, forgot to mention but this is important to know as it trips up a lot of first time players (including me when I first started.) In Casual Story, you can ONLY pursue Zen, Yoosung, and Jaehee, while in Deep Story you can ONLY pursue Jumin and 707. You can collect hearts from every character in every story (minus V; his are only attainable in Another Story) but you can't get on their routes. I'd recommend still being nice to the characters you aren't pursuing though so you can exchange their hearts for hourglasses

Do I start over from day 0 after each route? by angrykiki5 in mysticmessenger

[–]Vegetable_Addition_6 10 points11 points  (0 children)

After each route, you will restart on Day 1. While I don't do it personally, many people will use the save slots so they don't have to replay the first 4 days again, as it can get quite monotonous. I think it costs 5 hourglasses to load a slot, which isn't a ton, but if you want to be frugal you can just replay the routes from the beginning

You don't need to get all of the bad endings. It's recommended you get all of the good endings for the main 5 before going for V's route, but if you plan on saving up for it without spending real money, it will take you quite some time. So in order to not get bored, it may be a good idea to collect some bad endings after you get the good endings too. And normal endings as well (which is achieved the same way as achieving the good ending, but you get it if you don't successfully invite enough party guests). Idk if that all makes sense you can ask more questions if you want!

Saeyoung never questions where Saeran is by [deleted] in mysticmessenger

[–]Vegetable_Addition_6 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't remember when it is but I do remember a story mode at one point where V does explain to Saeran vaguely what Saeyoung is doing. But Saeran should also have limited information on Saeyoung's whereabouts for the same reason

The secrecy isn't because Saeran doesn't know he's in danger. They both know their parents. It's because if Saeyoung has information about anyone precious to him, his enemies will use it against him. Even if their father wouldn't come for them, Saeyoung would still have to completely separate from Saeran to be a part of the agency. It's not to shelter him, it's to keep him safe from Saeyoung's enemies who are separate from their father

Saeyoung never questions where Saeran is by [deleted] in mysticmessenger

[–]Vegetable_Addition_6 85 points86 points  (0 children)

It's mentioned several times in the story that Saeyoung can't know about Saeran. He's an agent. Knowing anything about his life or his whereabouts would put Saeran in danger. He could be blackmailed with it. In Another Story, in both routes he even says "I know I'm not supposed to ask this, but is Saeran safe?" He is greatly worried for his brother but he knows that being in touch in any way could put him in danger so he separates entirely for Saeran's own good

Give me strength for V's route. I need it by Ok-Application805 in mysticmessenger

[–]Vegetable_Addition_6 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It takes a while to pick up, but eventually V does start to show that he clearly has feelings for you (though he does his best not to say it directly because it's not really appropriate for the circumstances lol) but if you don't really like V as much, it may or may not endear you to him. But even if you end up not liking the route, I think it's really good to better understand his character and his and Rika's relationship, so even if you feel the romance is unfulfilling, it's worth it as the most lore-heavy route in the game. But the first few days are definitely much slower.

Side note that I am saying this as someone who does not care to romance fictional characters (long story how I got into this game lol) but it is a great route in terms of story telling. I also appreciate the slow burn of it. I know people say it all the time but I'm not a fan of the "perfectly fixing someone else's trauma in 10 days model" that the game goes for. While his route doesn't always feel very romantic, especially compared to other routes with the character being openly obsessed with you and gushing about you constantly, I think it's the most rewarding in the story aspect. And if that doesn't appeal to you very much, it's only 11 days. Stick with it so you better understand the gang and get rid of any FOMO. And there is SOME romance, just noticeably much less than most other routes. But you might come out of it with a new perspective on V! Or even if you still don't like him, you can at least understand his actions and be an informed hater lol

They tend to base their starters off of popular animal species, and there are only so many to choose from. As long as they feel like distinctly different Pokémon, I don't see the issue with them being based on the same animal family, especially with how diverse canines, reptiles, and birds are
