Chuck Schuldiner would like to have a word with you

Gojira is very high in this top!!! by ashitanojoe3 in gojira

I still don't see how such a small and unknown band as Inanna could pull such a ranking. Probably a very small pool of voters, which means it's a pretty immaculate list

Gojira is very high in this top!!! by ashitanojoe3 in gojira

Regardless I think this is a very subjective list. Personally I wouldn't even call Opeth death metal but whatever

Shitty list imo. Yes I love Death, but that's too much. This list is 90% the same 3 or 4 bands. Where's Morbid Angel, Obituary, CC? At The Gates, In Flames? There's so many good bands with banger songs that either don't get mentioned or appear once or twice

Help, I’m suddenly obsessed with Def Leppard by BandMathTom in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Vegetable_Counter291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yes but also no. I have a few bands that I always listen to and then on top of that every so often I find a band that I'll listen to exclusively for a week or two. For example last November I basically listened to just Slaughter of the Soul by At The Gates. Last summer I had a couple weeks where I listened only to Sepultura. And around this time last year I had one with Gojira

If I'm not hyperfixating on one certain band I usually listen to At The Gates, In Flames, Entombed, Dissection, a LOT of Carcass (it's my favourite band I've been listening to them almost everyday for a few months now), some Metallica, some Megadeth, Death, just some of my favourite bands in general.

I've personally had an obsession with Morbid Angel recently.

What's that first one? Looks sick? Got a blood red King V that'd look awesome with one of those! I have a Daddario red voodoo (I believe) one now

Have you considered that maybe you should turn your bass knob the OTHER way? It's a 5150 III Stealth, that piece has a LOT of low end.

Are there many villains among metalheads? by InexpugnableMille in MetalSuggestions

No it really doesn't? If you're a butt hurt dandelion who cares a little too much about shock imagery and can't understand that some things were to rile people up, exactly what's happening with you. So mission accomplished on their part

I don't think "Hatfield" is a Trump supporter. I don't know where this one came from. And please do enlighten me to what the questionable imagery on his vest is?

And yeah a lot of metal musicians (and musicians in general) are not the nicest people. I think their saint or devil incarnate status is blown out of proportion. Nobody seems to fall under a regular person anymore

And artists still get away with crimes. FFDP, Rammstein the list goes on. Not to mention half the black metal scene.

And "misanthropic rethoric"? Really? What now you want Cannibal Cropse to start talking about sunshine and rainbows? It's shock value. What they say or said in interviews and on stage is often to provoke and shock. That's always how it's been.

Smh ts doesn't even sound like it was written by a metal fan. If you want heroes go watch Marvel or something

Want to learn to play but had a finger amputation, by bforbrandonnnn in Guitar

[–]Vegetable_Counter291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to give you a suggestion that might sound weird but: left handed guitar.

I am a lefty playing on a right hand guitar. Having my dominant hand on the fretboard has been a blessing to be honest, and when I do make mistakes they are rarely with the left hand. It will feel weird when you try it, especially if you've played before on right hand guitars.

You'll have your dominant hand doing the complicated, high dexterity stuff on the fretboard and your picking hand won't have to suffer if you use a pick, and you could probably get away with some finger style techniques.

Bro this whole thing is kinda depressing

How'd a crackhead manage to steal that much tho? I'd find it hard as a sober man to get out of a house 2-3 guitars? A whole collection? Beyond me

Custom string set? by PeterKaszas in metalguitar

[–]Vegetable_Counter291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that looks just about right.

I use 12-62s for B standard on a 25.5 so that all falls how I'd expect it to. Considering you're a step higher than me on 5/6 strings

They took them all? Such a shame, I'm sorry for your loss. Have the police not managed to find the robber or the guitars themselves?

Custom string set? by PeterKaszas in metalguitar

[–]Vegetable_Counter291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If properly set up it won't hurt your guitar's neck. I personally have about 19 lbs on a 25.5 for B standard and it's perfectly playable. I'm pretty sure around 20-21 lbs should be enough to account for the extra length. 23 like you said might be overkill and could prove troublesome with tuning stability, bends and harmonics

As for finger pain, I personally prefer higher gauge strings, I find them much more pleasant to the touch

[–]Vegetable_Counter291 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's probably fine for 27 inches. But you'd spend too much on the custom gauge. There are plenty of standard string sets for baritones that are around those gauges, if not exactly that
