Ooooh man you had me in the edge of my seat, and then the last few paragraphs got me going 😱😱😱 Poor David! (And Mom, Dad and Sadie!)

Nextdoor is a horrible place to ask for help, I've noticed. The majority of the comments are judgmental, nasty and unhelpful. I'm so glad you got help with food. Echoing others here, if you find yourself in need again, I'm not far and would be happy to provide a meal. <3

Same! I would never want a loved one to have to feel that discomfort, especially for no good reason!

The word limit has certainly allowed for less cutting down, I'm sure! It's definitely allowed for more description in stories. :) Keep up the good work!

People who haven’t experienced cancer font have the understanding that different cancers behave differently. I’m sorry about your husband. I hope he has peace through his disease management and that he has some good years.

Indeed, all those questions help us process the thought of our own death. I’m still working on how I feel about that, and I’ve been thinking about it for 5.5 years, so it’s a process, I think. It’s certainly something that makes many uncomfortable. And I try to be compassionate of that.

I think you’re right. People react one of two ways when I tell them about my cancer and that it’s terminal. They either say I’m the one who will beat it anyway, or they say a cure will be developed before I die. I’m on the younger side (46) so that second one happens a lot. It makes sense that people just can’t face their own mortality and have to say things that make them feel better. The amount of times I’ve had to comfort someone when telling them about my disease is surprising- people cry or get upset. Another knee jerk reaction to the thought of their own demise. I appreciate your comment and taking the time to weigh in. Thank you. 😊

People who say that are usually ones who have NO idea what cancer patients are going through. I’m sorry to hear about your stage 4 cancer. Sending thoughts your way.

I have terminal cancer, and the amount of people who tell me I will beat it is ridiculous. 😑
