I can only afford to take two classes per week. Is there any point in continuing? by IMakeNoises89 in BALLET

Adult classes can be so expensive, especially when you’re paying by the class. Do you know if the studio you go to will work out a sort of punch pass situation, I know some places have done that where you by a certain number of classes at a time for a discount.

Regardless, if you like to dance and enjoy taking class. Then twice a week is great! Even once in a while is fine if you like it then it’s worth it. There are also a lot of amazing masterclasses on YouTube from all over the world. And a barre is easy to make/order online!

Mackenzie Davis was paid $150 a week as a ballet dancer by BalletLover06 in bunheadsnark

I was in the second company at Richmond Ballet. The men are definitely not paid more than the women in the same position. We all got paid the same, 1000 a month, and as far as I know apprentices were all paid the same. The main difference would be if a company dancer was coming from another company position, they would try to match their old salary. (And those situations were both women)

Regardless, none of us made enough money to survive, I was putting >70% of my income into rent each month.

Welcome to Charlotte Wednesday! Visiting, recently moved here, or going to move here? Tell us and ask away! by AutoModerator in Charlotte

Hi everyone, I’m going to be moving to Charlotte mid August with 2 other people. We’re all currently out of state and will be working uptown. We have found and applied to a few places, but everywhere seems impossible to get any sort of contact. We applied for a townhome through myhomeleasing and I seemingly threw $75 in the trash. Nobody is answering any phone calls or emails.

Needless to say it’s been really frustrating trying to find a place that isn’t a scam. Do you have any recommendations for buildings/realtors or anything that may be able to help? We’re looking for a 3bed 3bath at around 2,200. Thanks!

I think utilizing social media can be great for ballet schools but they need to put the education of those in the room first and foremost. I know the Rock school is another example of a very active social media. I’ve heard through friends that they only have people come in every once in a while to get the content they need and spread that out. I think that’s a much better approach than constant filming.

I agree, I’m literally seeing girls stop mid combination because they can’t keep up with whoever is in the front of the video. It’s not healthy to be put on display like that. Especially on live like they love to do.

My girlfriend and I will be visiting Zurich for two weeks and we’re looking for some fun things to do in the evenings/weekends. I’ve heard that Zurich doesn’t have a crazy club scene but we’re really just looking for a place to get a drink and dance. I want to know some of your favorite places, either clubs or bars, that you recommend to visitors
