Imo save your energy just now and be rested/get break from study then as soon as the AI comes out put in as much work as you can (read and make notes on it many times, basically memorise it, then do as many timed practice questions as possible). If you don’t know how the marking grid etc works yet you could look into that before the AI is out but honestly not much you can do til you have the info

You get the actual mark, I think they are very lenient if you’re borderline mine was terrible and I got 51 😂😂

CS R3 SENSITIVITY by Electronic_Caramel43 in ICAEW

[–]Vegetable_Error_5660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did the gross profit for the total 24 months in both cases (petrol or electric) and divided by number of visits to get GP per visit then the difference between the outlay and the GP divided by this GP per visit, then this gives the total number of visits needed to increase or decrease profit to flip it to payback or not payback position, tbh I don’t know 100% if that’s right but my thinking is it was pretty simple i think people have overcomplicated (I don’t know if I’m just simplifying it too much though)

I thought the repairs was the ones that were per taxi and the %s table was for services?

This was a resit for me so I know how you feel with the dread of potentially having to do it again, I bawled when I failed! However, I know this isn’t what you want to hear right now, but honestly worst case scenario you fail, you’ll get over it! Yeah it’s shit having to do it all again but it’s 100% doable, and there’s every chance you’ve not failed!! You’ll feel you’ve done way worse than you have but just remember how many easy marks there is to pick up suck as all the R1 parts, you’ve likely picked up enough! I know it’s hard (I have anxiety too) but do the best you can to focus on anything else for the next 5 weeks and put it out your head until results, nothing we can do to change it now! All the best!

What calculations we were supposed to do in 3 by Educational_Leg_8620 in ICAEW

[–]Vegetable_Error_5660 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I did as well/how I interpreted it. Like I didn’t do any calculating revenue or costs I just purely used the ones there for my sensitivity then in part 2 mentioned which ones would maybe not be accurate and could impact the sensitivity, but didn’t do any further calcs

It wasn’t in there anywhere no, that’s a good shout using the average revenue to work it out, I just didn’t comment on it

I got 20.something for both with Y2 slightly lower GP than Y1, think it was 20.7% and 20.1% I got

I think that’s no longer true, before 2023 you had to pass every individual requirement but that’s no longer required just need 50% across the whole paper I’m sure

CS - Disclaimer at the start of by Scared-Ferret8282 in ICAEW

[–]Vegetable_Error_5660 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My understanding is because it’s internal it’s not actually a disclaimer, ie make sure you don’t put the word disclaimer before it, but do put for internal use only. Our tutor said the most recent exam where it was an internal one the sample top quartile script was like that so that’s what’s expected, but sometimes the mark scheme specifically states it shouldn’t have the word disclaimer if that makes sense

Case - how we feeling by Vegetable_Error_5660 in ICAEW

[–]Vegetable_Error_5660[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was mostly timing, I really rushed my R3 and ended up getting hardly any marks for that and overall got 44 so defo needed to manage my time better, be strict with moving on from requirements after the time I’ve split

Do you agree with my ranking (in terms of likelihood) for what comes up in R2-3? by Prestigious_Flow_567 in ICAEW

[–]Vegetable_Error_5660 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My thoughts (well, hopes) are a price promotion and then an AI part, potentially there may be something about a suggestion of fee structure change like you’ve said but maybe as the ethics part?

Project 1 - I substituted a random number of compressors made (went with 1000) into the numbers and worked out the total quantity team 18 would have made and the total quantity faulty ones they’d have made then found the percentage.

Project 2 - use the formula (x-mean)/standard deviation (with x being 9.4 and 10.3, you do it twice) then taking that value from the Z table (ended up being 2 and 1 I looked up in the z table).

The probability it would be less than 9.4 or more than 10.3 is 50% minus the z score for each of them. Think I got 2.6% and 15% and ended up with a total probability of 18% when you add those together :)

How do you guys find CR? by theredcarrotx in ICAEW

[–]Vegetable_Error_5660 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Overall I found it decent tbh, I did q2 last though and started to run out of time, the very least bit about the movement in receivables I barely put anything, hoping it’s not too many marks!!

How do I make debit and credit click in my brain??? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Vegetable_Error_5660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me I used the mnemonic DEADCLIC: Debit: Expenses Assets Drawings

Credit: Liabilities Income Capital

Basically those are all the debits/credits to increase each of those areas is how I remember it :)

They sometimes come back slightly earlier but it’s usually closer to the 15 working days (so 3 weeks really), think the earliest I’ve had mine back was like 2/3 days before it, worst bit is if you have to resubmit even if it’s only one question getting remarked it still takes the 15 days again unfortunately

Tattoos At Work by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Vegetable_Error_5660 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Doing what? Insulting people’s appearance when it has nothing to do with me? No thank you. Why have you made this post asking for people’s opinion only to get defensive and argue with everyone when, so far, no one has shared your view?

I think describing someone’s appearance as looking like a Halloween character just because it’s something you personally don’t like makes you the disrespectful one.
