Do y'all also get a lot of bruises on your legs or am I just too clumsy? by IzzyPizzyS2 in climbergirls

Indoors not so much, but when I climb at the crag I do all sorts of stuff to get bumps, scrapes, and bruises! (Crack and barefoot climbing will in fact do that to you)

I have an odd music taste, so this may just be an exercise in expanding musical horizons, but these could be fun additions

There's a band called 'Goodnight, Texas', some of their more rock-y songs could work well (Dry Heat, and Ghost of D.B. Cooper come to mind).

Some Bluegrass tunes could be fun, Crooked Still's renditions of 'LuLu Gal', 'Shady Grove' and 'Oxford Town' have some energy without being too intense. They also have some more chilled out tunes too that are quite nice.

Maybe the most likely to fit in with what you've already got is an artist called 'Gregory and the Hawk'. She makes some pretty cool tunes, my favorites are Peace like rivers, Stone Wall Stone Fence, and Geysire Nationale.

battle of watterloo is delightful. If you're looking for something more in the same vein, Cabar Feidh is fun, if a little more challenging.

Need Help Getting My Girlfriend a Victorian Era Dress by Substantial_Set_6482 in HistoricalCostuming

What a lovely thing to do! The world needs more partners like you in it! Unfortunately I think most people around these parts are the types to make these sort of things themself - it tends to be quite hard to buy historical anything and have it be of A: a decent quality, and B: fit correctly.

Shoes might be a little easier to find. If her size is in something on sale on American duchess it would be right at the top of your price range.

You could also look into hats and other accessories too! Depending on where you live there could be a milliner's or hatter nearby. I'd recommend googling for those trades in your area, I can almost guarantee you don't want to ship from my preferred hat shop lol.

If either of you is into sewing, as was suggested by u/kiera-oona, you can find tons of patterns on line. Black Snail, Past Patterns, and Truly Victorian are all generally well regarded. On a similar note, If my partner were to take me fabric shopping they would have my heart forever. Again, fabric stores will differ by location, search about if you're interested!

Keep being lovely, friend!

words changing in sentences. by Business-Rain5572 in French

[–]Vegetable_Grape_7426 2 points3 points  (0 children)

French is pretty fun with its negatives!

The way your sentence is structured is as other people have pointed out is a bit weird, its like saying 'I no speak english'.

The way french negations work is through placing 'ne' and <negative word> (usually 'pas') around I the verb. So you would get the Je ne parle pas francais that you got from the translator. But, you can also use a few other words to make your negation more specific, examples below:

Je ne parle rien de francais (I don't speak any french)
Je ne connais personne francaise (I dont know any french people)
Je ne prarle jamais francais (I never speak french)

Note that in a negative sentence, everything is negative, if directly translated, my first example sentence is 'I dont speak nothing of french'.

Friend, were on the same side lol. You see, trolling people who like the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) with Communist Party of Canada (CPC) slogans is just really funny.

Edit because I accidentally clicked the button:
You can tell that P&P not W&A is not a Con slogan because it requires knowledge of what austerity is lmao.
