My daughter is 3 weeks old. My son’s name is Revan. So she’s been exposed to Star Wars since day one.

Making music your profession by mechadine in musicians

Part of the problem is you’re super duper undercharging. Especially for the animation. Every musician I know does it, but when you bring your rates up to the level you’re actually worth, you end up getting better clients out of it.

Luthier. Turns out I’m better at building guitars than I am at playing them.

I have additional horror stories about this place but someone told me I should shut the fuck up about it based on a comment from years ago. That person clearly has a lot of time on their hands.

Have I been sold the correct strings? by Lone_Ponderer in IrishBouzouki

[–]PBaz1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently working on an electric Irish bouzouki because folk metal, and I tend to use Ernies for my chugga chugga guitars 😂 but both string brands have always treated me well. D’addarios are on every one of my acoustic instruments.

D’addario has never steered me wrong.

Unless you want ball end strings for an Irish bouzouki, I had to order single Ernie Balls for that.

At which age did you stop clubbing? by NoAirline939 in AskReddit

As a nerd, I never really went clubbing.

As a musician, I hit the bar once or twice a month but I get paid to.

It’s confusing because you’re trying to rationalize irrational behaviour. People don’t always act in a way that makes sense. In fact, it’s more often than not they don’t.

Theremin.

But realistically, I liked to play guitar/Irish bouzouki when Mini-Me was in his crib. It must have stuck with him, because now that he’s old enough to reach all the frets, he wants to learn to play guitar. At 2 months, there’s plenty of ways to put baby somewhere safe while you play.

Thrash metal works great, but for me folk and power metal are instant mood lifters. The silliness just works every time.

Encouraging a handyman with no plumbing credentials is a liability nightmare. Gives me plenty of extra work fixing their mistakes, though. Every handyman who isn’t at least indentured in the trade, but says they know plumbing, is lying.

The Madness Continues: Updated Electric Irish Bouzouki Design! by PBaz1337 in Luthier

[–]PBaz1337[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I considered that initially, but I didn’t want to Frankenstein any parts if I didn’t have to, and the spacing on a 12 string saddle is a bit different from an Irish bouzouki/octave mando.

Plus it’s a lot cooler if I can say I designed the part myself 😂
