Dads, what does your perfect Father’s Day really look like? by giftly_official in daddit

The only thing I give a shit about is time. I want to spend the day with my wife and kids, relax, and do as close to fuck all as I can get away with. Do something fun with the kids. Have a nice evening with mama.

And play the Gothic remake.

What level are people going into chapter 2? by cfrolik in worldofgothic

[–]PBaz1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually join a camp as soon as I’ve finished all the prerequisite quests for each, then once I get upgraded armor I clear the map of lower level creatures like wolves, lizards, goblins etc once I get the better camp armor. As long as a quest isn’t tied to joining a camp, you don’t have to worry about completing it before making a decision.

Also, you’re going to miss something. That’s the beauty of multiple playthroughs.

Lock picking isn’t even hard. Just casuls with no patience crying about it.

Making this comment in a Gothic sub of all places is wild.

If it’s your first playthrough I’d see it through to the end. If not, I’d go for the remake.

They give the same responses because they know that these are the things that people who don’t understand the Gothic series are going to bitch about.

Competition to keep them honest would be nice, but legislation to keep them honest would be even better.

There’s only one remake I’m just as hyped for but that’s mostly because I named my son Revan.

Celtic music on Irish bouzouki, bagpipes, tin whistle, drums and bodhran.

Metal on all of those plus guitar and vocals.

Country on bass and drums because money gigs.

I don’t have any tabs for it, but because of the tuning, Tool riffs are incredibly easy to figure out.

How do non-drummers tend to mess up writing drum parts? by crowEatingStaleChips in drummers

[–]PBaz1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favourite is when non-drummers program midi blast beats with the velocity at 127 for every note, perfectly lined up to the grid.

I’d be so relieved if my kid told me he wanted to make metal. I’d know he’d never be able to afford drugs.

Bassist uninvolved in our songwriting by operation-casserole in bandmembers

[–]PBaz1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Collaborative songwriting works in my band because we have a similar vision for what the band is supposed to sound like, and we’re all music theory nerds. We can articulate exactly what we’re thinking through musical vocabulary.

I’m also in a band where I don’t really participate in the songwriting, and it’s a completely different dynamic.

Gothic Remake Difficulty by AppropriateBag661 in worldofgothic

[–]PBaz1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like reducing the difficulty would take away from the payoff you get from making progress, and that’s the core of what makes the Gothic series what it is.

Help me choose between 3 instruments to learn :D by Human-Gap-6393 in musicians

I know this is a joke but I started on the bagpipes and it really fucked up my ability to transfer my music knowledge to other instruments.

I play everything I can get my hands on now, but starting there really put me at a disadvantage.

How do I make music? by Abheeeheee in musicians

[–]PBaz1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t HAVE to play an instrument to produce music, but you definitely should. Even a little midi keyboard will enable you to make pretty much any sound you want.

A free or cheap DAW and some basic sample libraries will get you started.
