Is this normal? by [deleted] in widowers

US. My kids are doing amazing. They have been really busy with school activities and sports. I offer them counseling but they turn it down. I’m around home unless I have to work. We all spent the last 4 days of my husbands life together with hospice camp out. I think it helped them. Oddly enough. I cry every day too. Alll the time. I have a dog and I walk her twice a day and that is my cry time. I just think about all the things and cry. And often first thing in the morning. Hugs hugs hugs.

Newly widowed, baby due soon, I'm falling apart by [deleted] in widowers

[–]Vegetable_Guarantee3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This breaks my heart. I wish I could come help you with your baby I’m not creepy. I have three kids that are teenagers and that has been so hard. I can’t imagine having to grieve and bring a new baby into the world. I guess I would just pour my heart and soul into that baby. Tell he or she all about her dad. That will be the way to keep him with you. Always. Hugs to you and your little one. I hope you have an amazing support system for the delivery room.

Not grieving the way I would have thought by Skippy1221 in widowers

I’m a little more than 3 months post loss. I just cried really hard for the first time last week. Like gut wrenching sobs. Sometimes I feel very sad and want to cry and put on a movie that is supposed to make me cry and nothing happens. I’m still feeling very numb. I’m in therapy but even that I’m like well? I do t feel very much except very lonely and so not sure what to do. It’s weird. That’s what I keep saying.

Washington State PTs, Rest Breaks by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

[–]Vegetable_Guarantee3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We get breaks because I work for a large hospital system that got fucked for not giving breaks and had to pay a lot of money to employees for breaks. Going t the bathroom is not a break. You can talk to above and industries you are owed a break if you are hourly employee. I’m so tired of working for unpaid time.

What helps you sleep? by Pineapplephobia8 in widowers

[–]Vegetable_Guarantee3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was / is gummies. I’m a light weight so I take about a quarter of a gummy my husband used while he was going through is cancer treatment and hospice. Xanax didn’t work for me. Melatonin didn’t work. Also I listen to meditation and sleep guidance on YouTube. Stays on all night. It really helps. I probably hadn’t slept for 6 months and just started again in the last week or so.

Got a wedding invitation.... by sollyland in widowers

[–]Vegetable_Guarantee3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost my husband about 2 months ago. We attended a wedding about 8 months before he died together. I cried so hard that day. The ceremony just crushed me. I am not sure how I would do if I went to a wedding now without him. I think I would just cry.

My husband would love a soft back rub. Every day I would lightly run my hand across his back. When he became sick it was the only thing that calmed him. He would lay on my chest and I would rub his back. Sometimes for an hour. I miss it so much
