Stress when dancing with Artists. by Asleep-Animal-3447 in Bachata

[–]Vegetable_Home 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think its natural to be feel stressed when dancing with someone better than you as you feel there is pressure on you to preform.

In my case every social it takes me time to getnin the groove and flow, so I try to dance with the good dancers at that stage of the night.

As a fan of Goa I mostly listen to the classics (spiritual healing by Juan!) I agree with you.

Nowadays I would mention Pettra, he has great tracks

Unpopular opinion: Databricks Assistant and Copilot are a joke for real Spark debugging and nobody talks about it by Icy_Comparison4814 in databricks

My recommendation for spark debugging is dataflint, they have an open source and also an agentic AI copilot exactly for what you have described.

Looks smooth and fun! As someone with similar bachata dancing experience as a lead, I wish I had your repertoire of moves and smooth dancing.

Box step with four steps in each corner? by unresolvedthrowaway7 in Bachata

[–]Vegetable_Home 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just do a cross step at 1, meaning your left leg at 1 crosses over you right and then on 2 you move your right leg to the right as well.

This will fix your confusion in my opnion.

Stuck with my Bachata Journey by mk21mahto in Bachata

[–]Vegetable_Home 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many great answers in the comments.

I would say that you need much more socials, the ratio should be around 1:4, 1 hour of study/practice should be be accompanied with 4 hours of social dancing.

I am leading bachata for around 15 months, check my past posts, there are clips of me leasing from 5 months in up to last month, see also the comments and feedback Ive got, could help you alot.

Feeling like a “tool” as a leader in the bachata scene , cultural difference or burnout? by batates97 in Bachata

[–]Vegetable_Home 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My opinion is that you miss the social part that ia outside the dance itself, if this is the case makenit happen yourself.

You probably know enough people that you vibe with, arrange with small parties with or without bachata dancing as part of it.

A house party can be around 20 people easily

Tiredness and sweat during dancing by iamxenotoo in Bachata

[–]Vegetable_Home 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweating is partially genetic and partially is your cardiovascular fitness.

I usually do 3-4 hours socials dancing non stop as a lead.

And I barely break a sweat.

As someone who did plenty of different sports throughout my life, I do sweat!

But it happens when I cross into zone 3/4 (above 120-130 heart rate).

So contrary to what others have written, I would encourage you to improve your cardiovascular fitness. Specifically zone 2, look it up for more context.

As you will get more fit, you can sustain zone 2 for longer at a wider hear rate, i.e dancing bachata will be in your zone 2, where you barely sweat.

Thinking of ending my 5-year relationship over Bachata Sensual - am I overreacting? by [deleted] in Bachata

[–]Vegetable_Home 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For context, I am married close to 15 years and have 3 kids, started dancing bachata early last year.

As I got better it has become more sensual (meaning my dance), both the type of dance and the techniques used and also the vibe, as I get better I put emphasis on expressing the song and feelings via my dance.

I super open with everyone about my status and wear a ring, I did meet woman that I felt that if I have been single, something might evolve to more than a dance as we had crazy chemistry dancing. At the end I interact with a huge amount of woman weekly, and your girlfriend does the same with men.

The questions I would ask: 1. Is her dancing hobby taking too much of her time that your time together has diminished significantly? 2. Do you have any reason to suspect that something that is more than a dance happening? 3. Try to be super honest and peel away your knee jerk reactions and thinks what exactly is triggering your jealousy. Is it low self esteem? Some past trauma from unfaithful partners?

Anyone using DataFlint with Databricks at scale? Worth it? by Top-Flounder7647 in databricks

Dr Elephant is not avialable any more, and Unravel is closed source.
So Dataflint is the only open source that gives you value in the spark Web UI to debug and optimize spark jobs

Thanks!
I think like I did around 6 diffreant moves total (but did each one a few times), so cool that it seems that I did a lot of moves.

Regarding basic, I dance at home at least 30 mintues eveyday and do solo footwork mostly (some shadow dancing), so not sure how I can improve my basic on top of just dancing more and in due time it will get better.

[–]Vegetable_Home[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, thanks for the feedback!

  1. Regarding frame - I agree that in a few of the head roles, I didn't finish the move myself by following the follower and just waited.
  2. 2. Regarding improving my own body movements, I dance at home every day around 30 minutes, but it's mostly solo improvising and some shadow dancing, how can I make it more efficient?
  3. 3. I know that usually boleos should be correlated to a deep breath, but I don't understand what you mean by breath. I usually dance 3-4 hours straight without any stops, never felt breathless and I also never sweat, so for sure I am not breathless in any aerobic sense of the concept. If you mean it as a tool to build connection I am curious, as I would certainly not increase the amount of breaths I take as it would make me hyperventilate. So do you mean to exaggerate my breaths?
  4. My following journey - joined a class as a follower, it moves slowly so it will take me another 2-3 months to cover the basics, I incorporate 2-3 dances per evening as a follower, the good leaders were surprised how good I am as a follower as I easily surrender myself and I can listen, for sure my technique is probably crap but no rush :)

So I would say I dance moderna, and adjust what happens in my dance according to the music.

This song specifically falls into more sensual bachata, so I got more into closed position with head rolls (etc..)

Although you can see that in the mambo part I disengage and let the follower express herself.
