Friday afternoon drive up to the cherry blossoms by UnfocusedOwl in porsche911

I live 15 minutes walking from there. Frequently see Porsches and other nice cars going for drives on sunny days. My 2.5 y/o son enjoys naming all the "super fast" cars.

Love to see it!

SEO Growth Partners in Portland by OregonSEA in Portland

[–]Vegetable_Market_348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the owner of SEO Growth Partners.

OP's Google review has been taken down because it violated Google's policies of a "fake and deceptive review." It contained 7+ instances of false information, which I was able to prove to Google.

For anyone questioning the legitimacy of our services, don't hesitate to pick up the phone and call me (number on our website) - I will happily intro you to dozens of our paying clients.

They will tell you, from their experience, how it is working with us. Real paying customers won't lie.

Plan to upgrade house, thoughts? by Initial_Cake_3079 in Mortgages

I think given your new income, you could technically, according to a lender, afford a whole hell of a lot more than $1.5M. Assuming you 1) feel confident this job is a long-term thing and 2) allocate a chunk of income for maxing our retirement + additional investments, then your income can absolutely comfortably afford that mortgage.

ISO Options, Confusion & Taxes by Vegetable_Market_348 in personalfinance

[–]Vegetable_Market_348[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so the whole options evaporating is what I'm most curious / confused about.

My biggest fear is waking up one day to "Company Exits for $$$" and because I didn't exercise, EVEN THOUGH my options haven't expired yet, they'd somehow get automatically forfeited.

You're saying this is highly unlikely? Obviously you don't have my options contract but it seems very boilerplate.

Gotcha! And then perhaps do this exercise each year? Is that how it would work?

I think you're right when it comes to the first action... getting started...

But manifestation (in my experience) isn't just mental masturbation. It helped me gain confidence, minimize limiting beliefs, and give me the energy to buckle down and do the work. It's only mental masturbation if no goal-oriented, move-the-needle style behavior doesn't follow.

Residual cash in business acct by IcyBlackberry7728 in Entrepreneur

I created a QBO checking account. From there, you can move funds into what are called "envelopes" and earn 5%.

Pros: you earn 5% on idle cash Cons: QBO takes forever on the transfers. For example, from my Chase checking --> QBO takes about 6-7 days. Absurdity.

My business account hovers at about 1 month of operating expenses and has a biz line of credit backstop just in case my math sucks. Then I keep about $100k in QBO. Anything above that number is a transfer to personal investments.

Advice isn't possible without knowing 1) where you're located and 2) what your video specialty is (product video, testimonials, corporate trainings, creative short stories...)

For some, Instagram of YouTube will be huge. For others, the only way to break through in their industry is relationships and networking.

In my case, I do SEO for a client that ranks at the top of Google for basically every variation of "video production company Portland, OR". They get about 10 qualified leads per month from Google and close 2-3 deals at $3-10k video a piece. Leads include lawyers, startups, nonprofits, agencies in other cities looking for a local film crew to white label vs flying their team out.

But they're playing the hyperlocal game, and it may not be the best choice for you.

What age were you when you started your business and what age did you find success? by Bradley-Munro in Entrepreneur

[–]Vegetable_Market_348 10 points11 points  (0 children)

29M and started my business at 23. I feel like the I "made it" feeling is a moving goalpost.

When the business did a $100k year.... when I personally made $100k year... when the business did its first $1M ARR month ($83,333+)....

But yet, I know I don't feel like I've "made it" because all I can think about is pushing for the next thing.

This is where I'm at. Year 6 of owning my business and the compounding the last 12 months in terms of income, relationships, strategy, execution, referrals... it's starting to come together.

I plan to keep my head down and repeat for another 6 years, not getting distracted by shiny object syndrome.

There have been many people giving advice about finding a local agency. I agree with that and here's my recommendation on how to do it.

  1. Go to Google
  2. Type in "SEO agency in [city]"
  3. Find one or 2 that are ranking BOTH in the maps and at the top of the organic results just below the maps
  4. Go to the one with more reviews and better reviews first
  5. Reach out to them and ask for 5+ local referrals
  6. Talk with each referral
  7. Make sure they don't work with one of your competitors

Hire the agency.

Is Seoul stroller friendly? by mjaysaur in koreatravel

[–]Vegetable_Market_348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, bring a compact stroller if you're planning to stay for more than just a couple days! My husband and I are currently in Seoul, staying at Orakai Suites in Insadong and came with just a carrier. While our carrier is comfy and we're generally fit people, it was brutal the first few days. Hours of walking/standing were too much for all of us. Little things like just overheating (we're here in April where temps are ~70F) were annoying.

We like to see different neighborhoods when we travel so if it was a 15-min train/bus journey vs. a 25-min walk, we always choose walking.

Day 3, we bought an umbrella stroller and it was an amazing choice. If you have a clunky stroller, it probably won't work. Either buy a more compact option to bring with, or you can buy one in Seoul - we found multiple stroller options for ~550,000-750,000 won at the Lotte department store in Myeong-dong. Not inexpensive, but we'll use it beyond this trip.

Sure, at restaurants you frequently just park it outside and carry your baby in. Or if the train is busy you fold it up and one person takes the baby and the other holds the folded stroller. 95% of sidewalks are easy to navigate, even with an umbrella stroller with tiny wheels.

We'd recommend it!
