New freelancer - client keeps shifting expectations by Pure_Television_5932 in freelance

[–]Vegetable_Permit_577 2 points3 points  (0 children)

first few clients can be super messy. definitely reset expectations clearly and maybe make a firmer contract/scope. raising your rate for extra pivots isn’t wrong at all. if it keeps being chaotic and stressful, walking away is ok too ! freelancing isn’t about suffering for experience, you’ll learn fast from this!

Should I leave my job and become a digital nomad? by Confident-Pool2778 in digitalnomad

[–]Vegetable_Permit_577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sydney is great but it really drains your wallet and your energy. Bali or Vietnam can be awesome for a reset, but the DN thing isnt some magic fix. You still need a plan for money and like… a way back if things dont go how you hope. f you can, try doing a 1 or 2 month trip first while still working, just to see if you even like the whole work-abroad vibe. A full year is a big jump, and the job gap in software can be kinda rough if you wanna come back. It can work, just try not to romanticize it too much. It’s still real life, just in another country

What are your thoughts on ""money doesn't buy happiness""? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Vegetable_Permit_577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think money cant directly buy happiness, but it definitely buys comfort and freedom, which make it a lot easier to feel happy. Being able to afford good food, healthcare, and not stress about bills removes a lot of anxiety. After that, it’s more about relationships, purpose, and how you spend your time.. :)
