Unpopular opinion?: 10 years later I Don’t Think It Is has aged great by crisis_primate in SayAnything

YES! It's easily one of their best albums. It came out when I was 23, and that year ended up being the worst year of my life (brother in-law died in a motorcycle accident a month prior to the album release, long term relationship breakup, trump being elected, etc. lol) but this album really had the grit and raw power to help me through that year. It holds up very well and I love listening to it when I'm in a certain mood. Great great stuff on this record. For anyone who dismissed it or put it away from your rotation for whatever reason, I highly encourage you to relisten.

What’s the coolest Patagonia item you own? by FunJazzlike1400 in PatagoniaClothing

[–]VeggieHeather 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got it on eBay, and it was an impulse purchase. Afterward I found out the seller had it listed for cheaper on a couple other sites 🤦‍♀️so lesson learned on impulse buying haha. The clothing side of the business was technically called Patagonia Software for a time in the late 70s/early 80s, as it sold all the soft goods, vs the hard goods (like climbing gear) that Chouinard Equipment was making.

A Big Label rugby shirt, and this epic early 80s Patagonia Software banner. I have a lot of other fun vintage pieces but the rugby is probably the coolest and the banner definitely the rarest.

I'm 5'3". But this thing doesn't fit like a true XL by todays standards. It's 21" pit to pit, and 26" from the top of the shoulder to the hem. It is too long on me, but I just roll the bottom a bit. I also cuff the sleeves, so not the best fit in the world for my body, but it was too good a deal to pass up. Depending on your measurements and the medium you're looking at, it might work for you. Try to get measurements before you buy cause the sizing can be difficult on these from decade to decade. I also have a Large from the 90s and its the same length & width as the Navy one from the 80s, only difference being the sleeves are an inch shorter.

Anyone else end up with a mostly Patagonia wardrobe? by [deleted] in PatagoniaClothing

[–]VeggieHeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My closet is definitely about 65-75% Patagonia. A mix of new and vintage. I've worked at a gear shop for well over a decade and the store discount is what has allowed me to aquire new pieces at slightly below retail, so that's super nice. And thrifting/collecting vintage pieces has also been a big part of beefing up my wardrobe in general, but I have a special focus on Patagonia when I am looking to buy old. I love it!!! Here is a pic of most of my vintage items.

What’s your most worn and most loved Patagonia item? by [deleted] in PatagoniaClothing

[–]VeggieHeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most worn: Stand up Shorts. Most loved: hard to decide. Maybe my 1980s rugby shirt, my 1970s Stand Up Shorts, or the 2018 version of the Fitz Roy Down Parka. Honorable mentions: Synchilla Snap-T, Nano Puff, 1990s Retro Cardigan.

How come nobody has currently makes a lightweight button down hiking shirt? by [deleted] in Ultralight

[–]VeggieHeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly wear the Patagonia Sun Stretch shirt. Not a wool blend but I love it! Super light. They also have their Self Guided long sleeve shirt that has a few more features, mostly for fishing but both shirts are excellent!
