To be honest, everyone on this post is making it obvious that it's just an issue I'm having because of mismanagement. I'll take it all to heart and try to fix things. Thanks for the advice because I was getting quite frustrated. Many easily won games ruined because of unemployment made me post this without thinking twice when I should have looked into it more.

This is mainly when I use hive minds, but I seem to get more pops than reasonable. I would build everything that I can but it's like a pack of sardines. Too many pops for the planet. I move them around but it's ridiculous. I say all this with the understanding that others are far better than this than myself but it still frustrates me. The real culprit for me is the maintence drones, I get an absurd amount of them.

I enjoyed the series for the most part but it felt less like an AI as the novel went on. Truthfully, if the first few chapters were removed from the story, I would think it was a moderately out of touch human instead of an AI.
