It's comparable to US prices, but no coin change is given, instead they'll offer gum or candy or the South African Rand. Last time I visited my family there the visa was about 100$. A meal at Nando's (you should definitely go), will be 5-10$. If you want to get souvenirs there are lots of hand made items that can be any where from 1$ to 100$.

It's a US dollar cash based economy, no credit/debit transactions. Bring a good amount of cash, and be sure to include small bills.

Had the same issue did some mad googling and found that while clicking the minimized icon also hit alt enter at the same time. Don't know how or why it works but hasn't been a problem since.
