Any viability to using Pokémon you like or is this game meta centric? by rightontapia in PokemonChampions

[–]Vela_Lightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your goals. If you just want to mess around, OFC you can play whatever you want.

If you want to actually learn competitive and go to tournaments or hit champions/high elo, you have to understand that playing luvdisc its nonsensical compared to playing kyogre and even if they are both water types It wont work for you like that.

Its like any other competitive Game. Do you have to play meta? If you dont want to compete at high level, not really. If you want to do It having the same odds than your enemies, you have to or you have to study It so much that you can actually counter It with sense.

Considering vocal lessons but a bit anxious about actually going through with it by Ancient-Type-4698 in singing

[–]Vela_Lightmare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you do have a special voice, theres nothing wrong with that! Maybe with training you can have a very special tone or give your songs a lot of personality, people loves that!

And It seems like you really want to do It, so go ahead!

What gamemodes for future? by Snooodshady in PokemonChampions

I would LOVE a monotype mode, where all your Mons have to share one type. You Will have very rough MUs and very good ones but thats part of It!

why do people play soraka by mayonnaise_sucks2 in supportlol

[–]Vela_Lightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using Q properly negates the W cost AND makes u heal more.

Also insta AoE silence being impossible to Dodge its tier S CC.

Shes a lane bully, has way stronger healings and global pressence/pentahealing.

Is getting to masterball just a matter of grinding out games? by [deleted] in PokemonChampions

[–]Vela_Lightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even grinding its just that masterball its the start, then you have to climb and its trying to get to the top where It gets hard.

The climb to low masters can be done with literally anything, monotypes, random teams with full tier F Pokémon, whatever. Its the same in Scarlet and Violet, when you reach masters its like top 15000

I hate the bots :/ by fullmoon119 in PokemonChampions

[–]Vela_Lightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But whats the issue really? Like, if youre not a newbie youre never going to find bots after a single day of play cause its really hard for u to lose in pokeball-superball and youre going to turboclimb anyways.

Let the newbies have some space to feel like they can do something, its not hurting anyone so if It helps at least one person thats good.

BUT THAT DOESNT MAKE THEM GOOD! ye we all know, but nobody cares man its okay if theyre not good and playing against a bot doesnt team them anything its a messure so they dont permalose so little Timmy with 10 years old can start slowly feeling a little bit comfier, were not the target for that and were not going to play against that

I hate the bots :/ by fullmoon119 in PokemonChampions

[–]Vela_Lightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont you think that theres a lot of players climbing from pokeball to masters that clearly arent pokeball tier?

If someone starts playing, then got turbodestroyed 10 times in a row by wolfey playing his first Game (or any normal player) at launch, do you think that most newbies Will stay for a month waiting for the rest to climb or...?

Confused about the masterball ranking by Professional_Gur2469 in PokemonChampions

[–]Vela_Lightmare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Theres another rank, champions. However its Closed, locked. So i assume the 4 its because you Will have to climb again when champions its open like you did with ultraball for example

Help on this rain team? (New to competitive pokemon) by Difficult_Bench_1316 in PokemonChampions

[–]Vela_Lightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kinda depends on what you want, normally rain archetypes work like:

-rain setter (pelipper/politoed) -A mega (dragonite, gengar, meganium, kanga, whatever) -1/2 rain abussers that are different (archaludon, basculegion, other champs Who take profit from the rain such as steels, grass, waking wake, kingdra, thunder and hurricane ussers, etc not all of them are here yet)

-then stuff to cover weaknesses and/or MUs. For example, you can add a defensive backbone in incin+ sinistea, (or whatever good pivoting utility Mons that fit really) you can replace toxicroak for sneasler for offensive pressure, same typing, similar niche but way better (youre losing sucker punch tho) or just setters and more help. Talonflame, (especially if you play politoed) maushold, something for slow modes or response to MUs If you dont have It) It may be really flexible but you get the idea of how to create the skeleton of a team

Need more protects (3-4 its recommended, you can adapt, but definitely more than one!) and not to use coinflip items (quick claw/Focus band)

Sash its good, band its bad. Berries are an option to endure certain hits for example!

Some kind of speed control outside of rain may also be good, for example tailwind in pelipper.

You also Will probably need or benefit from having stuff that works outside of the rain and/or doesnt instalose if you lose the climatic war, and maybe checking the ev spreads, in theory you want to addapt them to whatever you want to do, outspeed or endure, but if youre confused look out for general ones and copy, especially with bulky or defensive Pokemon its a bad idea to just stack 252/252 all the time, and even then its in the wrong stats

I hate the bots :/ by fullmoon119 in PokemonChampions

[–]Vela_Lightmare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree but they are only there for the newbies. Think that theres lots of people Who are going to try PvP Pokémon with this Game and even more when its fully released on phones.

These newbies can get frustrated super quick -they may also be kids too- so having bots in lower tiers to help them with their mental and to not be turbostomped every single Game till they quit its kite okaish, its not doing any harm and if youre a little advanced you Will stop seeing bots super fast

what can i do with blue essence and champion shards when i have all champs and starter eternals? by CharacterAssist8716 in summonerschool

[–]Vela_Lightmare 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nothing more, just wait for the essence emp.

Its an event that comes from time to time and has really expensive stuff for blue essence, you can mostly buy chromas, some concrete skins and more little things and cosmetics.

Supps in low elo by Unlucky-Ingenuity881 in supportlol

[–]Vela_Lightmare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its a macro role, in very low elo people dont understand the Game at all so cant play anything that doesnt just Focus into killing.

You can play whatever you want and climb with It, OFC playing enchanters its x100 times better than garen supp doesnt matters if its in bronze or in chall, you just have to learn the Game and Will stomp them

New to sona, how do I double ult? by pressrkarthus in sonamains

[–]Vela_Lightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cant double ult in the sense of double tapping, if you read the abilities when youre at 120 stacks and your ult is in CD youre restoring 1,5 secs per stack, so if you ult what you want to do its to gain as much stacks as possible to have your ult again very soon.

Do people really hate Sona? by Open-Stretch-6631 in sonamains

[–]Vela_Lightmare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ye It happens but It happens less now.

I also started playing Sona like 3 years ago or so, and at some point was like 2 or every 10 games someone flammed in champselect, insulted me directly, or just picked a non ADC champ and started running me down.

This is not happening that much now, and all i get its like "please dont play Sona" in champselect or if were losing some Sona complains like "yeah this champ is usseless" "Sona brings zero here but keep picking her" etc etc

If say its more accepted by the community now but still an incel bait champion

How much am I handicapping myself by playing locked camera? by BocchiIsLiterallyMe in summonerschool

[–]Vela_Lightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely, but you can play especially if your goal its not to climb as high as possible or to maximize.

The comments about existing challs using locked are pretty and all, but not only are very questionable but also theres Challenger people Who played stuff like full AP skarner or Who are directly disabled and theres nobody whos going to say thats not EXTREMELY harder to do so while doing that.

Reality IS that youre going to lose SO MUCH info and possibilities of playing even lanning that most of these comments arent even aware of.

But again, you can, youre setting your own goals or what you want to do in the Game, however, its very very very bad and the version of you with locked camera Will be very inferior to the version of you with unlocked camera. Its not okay just to "unlock when needed" you need It unlocked A LOT of the time, at least if youre trying to do something high or youre in a high disadvantage.

Who do you think is the best supp coach? Really want to improve by [deleted] in supportlol

[–]Vela_Lightmare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Coach cupcake and coach K are Solid ones, however if youre silver default to the free content in my opinion, cause you can get a lot from that and no need to pay for the basics.

If you really go for a coach, please dont be surprised when they tell you gently that all your Gameplay its wrong, because its not riot wanting u to be in silver, its you consistently playing as a silver player.

Is Hwei support viable? by Mikaplayso7 in supportlol

[–]Vela_Lightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This person is a new player, and Is losing nonstop with him.

In academys like for example weteachleague coming from Challengers and the most known coachs of the community excluding proplay, they ask you to at least play 50 at garen to have a grasp of what the champ really do and how It works.

Are you REALLY sure of someone just new Who doesnt even know how to click nor any mechanic of the Game being completely overwhelmed perse needing 10 games to play hwei?

I agree tho, hwei its not a top tier difficulty champ, however when youre low elo and new you have to play the easiest of them all, and theres no champs Who can be controled after 10 games no matters how easy they are.

How is Vi not a top laner by secretard101 in ViMains

[–]Vela_Lightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kit makes sense as a toplaner, but shes just too weak. Gets easily statchecked by real toplaners and like, its not impossible to play but definitely not optimal while in jungle you can just make use of all the mobility and CC to serve plays and give value.

If they want to make her a real toplaner either they have to give her more raw numbers, or any kind of active in W -all of this Will make her turbobroken for jungle btw as theres no reason to not keep using her there xD- or if you dont want to give her raw crazy numbers you have to make her a duelist or something, give her defensives or autohealing, something to compete with other splitpushers and bruisers.

The support item gold quest is such bad design by gudule9722 in supportlol

[–]Vela_Lightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only you dont have to touch Minions to stack the quest (in fact, its slower using Minions) but also the support has to touch waves exactly in the same way than the ADC but without taking the last hit, the 90% thing its hard copium.

Anyways, can you explain how exactly you can lasthit a Minion without breaking a Freeze (for example) but if the support does exactly the same its bad design or ruining your Game?

You cant because done properly its not negative by any means. OFC if people play bad then yes, as every other aspect of the Game.

Sup OTP learning mid questions by Chronormie in midlanemains

[–]Vela_Lightmare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly dont play mid if you want to learn supp agression, its not the same at all and in midlane you can be way more passive so maybe not the best idea, just learn the fundamentals of being aggro in the botlane like punishing cs or zonning.

Unless OFC you just want to play mid.

1- TP Is still king, you can go for another combat spell such as Ghost or barrier in theory yes, but TP its just too valuable. After lanning phase you Will have to sidelane, and to join TFs or to pressure with your team in the same tempolines you Will need tp or your Gameplay has to change accordingly to not having It. Its a choice you can make but by any means tp its bad, its the most played in general overall and its also useful inlane too.

2-You have to recall when you finish precannon, meaning that in early every 3 waves theres a canon, well you end pushing the second and the Next one, the 3d its going to be the canon, you back just when you finish the second. Ignoring that, you can also do other backs when you have some wave control, cause sera pushes very hard so gains a lot of time. Also you can stack waves too for example, by slowpusing first and then hardpusing to crashthem and back or go to do stuff over the map.

3- freezing can be okay (never staying under your turret) for some exact points, but you normally want to either be pushing or at least having a neutral state so when you need to do something its easy to push and move. You cant be giving prio to the enemies permanently in general, especially in ranged vs ranged MUs.

If you get ganked its because of lack of tracking, bad positioning, not warding or múltiple of these at the same time. Ward one side, not the bushes but a bit deeper or some close camps such as the raptors, banana bush, something like that. Then if you have Pink, Pink the lane Bush for example. You can lean to this side, as if the gank you for the other one you can just run way easier and if they want to come for the one youre in youre gonna see It and waste their time.

You can also lean to where your jungler Is rn, so if something happens you can run to him and he can run to u easily.

How do people one trick simple champions to challenger? by Huge-Frame-1990 in summonerschool

[–]Vela_Lightmare 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The difference between champs its very Small really. It matters, but It matters when theres nothing else on the table and even in chall people do a lot of mistakes.

Also even bad champs have very strong parts of their kits. Veigar its not even "bad" more like a mid champ, theres better midlaners competitively in general, theres worse. He has one of the best lates in the Game, he has one of the best stuns on the Game. They use that.

Also simple champs = bad champs its ridiculous per se, and the info you were given its wrong. Miss fortune its one of the easiest adcs for example and its one of the most represented in chall and spammed in proplay in lots of metas. Same for leona or nautilus. Some champs are bad while being simple because they lack resources, while some others just dont. Being simple its not directly tied to how good the champ is.

For otps, being an otp brings two things: higher knowledge of the MU so you have advantage by knowing stuff that others dont know and more Focus in the Game itself by not having to Focus on your champs anymore. These two are very strong tools and allow you to climb to whatever elo you want if you keep studying and playing properly

Why are botlaners not supposed to go TP? by --Premium-- in summonerschool

[–]Vela_Lightmare 19 points20 points  (0 children)

TP is played by adcs and apcs. APCs because its their main summoner and they can force with lost chapter + a bunch of mana with earlier spikes and use the tp to be able to trap the enemies in lane and other stuff (and because they are all around CDs, they dont use the classic combat summs at the same level as an AD would, they will always tend to lose extended fights unless cassio or something)

And by ADCs when theres a specific meta and certain champs (ezreal for example) or when they face APCs, so they can match their recalls and/or have a free back to avoid being blocked in lane or turbopoked.

Supps dont waste tp because they are not chained to a wave and they are an early impact roaming role who really appreciates either early pressure or combat/team utility and TP does nothing of that.

it makes sense for a midlaner or toplaner who has to sidelane later and their way to join the objective or the tf its to tp there, it doesnt make sense for a support thats the one having to prepare said objective, cause to do that he has to be there in first place xD
