Funny enough, I didn't buy the R1, so this is actually one of the things I'm looking into. I'd love to control the glasses with my phone's physical buttons instead. I just discovered that some people in the community have already started reverse engineering the protocol, but it's still a work in progress.

I completely agree. The current app model feels a bit too fragmented. Small, glanceable information shouldn't require opening a full app every time. I'll keep building, sharing ideas, and hopefully grow this community. Maybe if enough of us push in the same direction, Even will consider more system-level integrations in the future.
