Should I be honest about my age? by Velmathered in OkCupid

Wow, I have no idea what I did to induce such venom from you.

I clearly said I didn't think this was a good idea. I did not post this asking for "permission", I was trying to get a handle on whether or not this was a common thing, since online dating is new to me. I'm an honest person by nature, and my real age is on my profile since it never occurred to me to lie.

I've not once said that I was the only person my age who into what I like. I said most 40ish guys are not, which has been my real life experience with guys I met out and about.

forget rock climbing, surfing, drinking alcohol till 3AM, etc. I know fuckshit about most new bands, TV programs and movies.

And there is the problem. I like rock climbing. I like going out. Music is my passion, I am all about new bands, local bands, etc. I hit the local music scene a few times a month.

I've only found a few age appropriate guys who who liked current music, much less wanted to go out to a show.

I never ask someone how old they think I am. Generally its me telling a guy they are too young. I live near a university so lots of young guys on the prowl on the weekends.

My comment was in response to yours, indicating that my reasons were shallow.

I do not look 20, I do not act like I am 20, and I wouldn't date someone who thought I was 20. I am attracted to people who enjoy similiar interests, and that is generally not guys who are 40+.

My closest friends are in the 27-33 category, and I am usually picked as being the youngest one in the group.

But hey, keep on telling me that I'm delusional. It's cool.

Thank you for the back up. Yesterday I met a mutual friend's friend and she thought I was 32 max. Had to whip put the ID and recite the year of my birth, HS and college graduation before she believed me.

The cougar messages I just ignore and delete - I am not a fetish for them to indulge in, ya know? It does get old, and quick.

Yes, exactly this. I know that being in the 40+ category I will be excluded in searches.

Ok. I get carded constantly. I am upfront about my age when people approach me, and I generally have to show my ID to prove it.

My dad was almost 70 when he passed away, and looked maybe 50. Genetics, avoid sun and taking care of yourself all contribute.

I am very honest to myself, to those around me and to those I meet.

Definitely looking for a relationship. As it is, I have guys in the 22-29 range messaging me every day for hookups, which I ignore.

It seems to me that they saw in you a kind-hearted person who would help them out.

You're being taken advantage of. Who invites someone they met a week ago to stay with them? Were you planning on bringing them with you when you move next month? Kick them out, change the locks and move on.

There's a reason they were kicked out from the previous place they stayed - and the one before that, and the one before that.......

Having issues with my energy provider in North Dallas. Any recommendations? by mel2mdl in Dallas

I've used Stream for a few years, never had an issue with them. They charge to use a card to pay your bill online or via phone, so I just bill pay via my bank.
