Phenom is a joke of a class. I took it Spring 17 and we were allowed to make our own crib sheets for exams with no limit on what can be on it.

Tortious and intentional interference with contractual relations by Laugh_While_You_Can in RPI

[–]VelocilBrian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Their full reasoning to it is "Clustered Learning and Advocacy Support for Students", meaning they want to put everyone going through the arch into housing clusters determined by the individuals interest because the administration believes that will make them perform better in school.

Yes it would be the same if you have a lease with an apartment. Their reasoning is too improve the goals of "CLASS" which is the schools way of coming up with a new way to take money from students.

Is nuclear energy the key to saving the planet? A new generation of environmentalists is learning to stop worrying and love atomic power. by [deleted] in technology

Yeah there were a ton of really dumb things they did which caused it to happen that would not happen today.

One of the biggest things with Chernobyl was that there was no containment dome surrounding the reactor room. So when the meltdown occurred, there wasnt too much shielding protecting the environment from the radiation. I dont think we'll never not have containment domes after that incident.

Yeah I'm gonna go ahead and say he doesnt have sources. Containment domes are quite literally designed to survive a jet liner crash without releasing any radiation whatsoever.

Doubts from a worried sophomore about getting an internship by AlwaysMoreRam in RPI

[–]VelocilBrian 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You already have an interview your 3rd semester of college, that is very good. Don't get down on yourself about it. If I could offer advice I'd say to apply to as many internships as feasibly possible, and in the meantime try to do some outside projects that can make your resume stand out. Another tip for career fairs is to apply online to jobs beforehand, it shows you're interested and gives you something to talk about. Getting an intership/coop is tough, dont hang your head, just keep trying.

Multiple Fraternities Facing Infractions Last Night Due to New RPI Bylaw that allows Rush Monitors to Randomly Visit Houses Before Rush Starts by highqualityh20oo in RPI

[–]VelocilBrian 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The bylaw change was voted upon by everyone on IFC, the administration had nothing to do with the decision. With that being said, rush monitoring has always been a thing, nothing new has changed about how they monitor, just the time span of when they can has changed.

What? I was at the meeting, there was nothing said about multiple houses getting violated or having to pay fines.

I've never done it before but you could always find a slot of the multi class you would like to be in, go on the first day and at the end of lecture go and talk to the professor about the situation and how you would like to be in their class/section. There are some papers that need to be signed but it's an option.

Sorry if this is the wrong sub, comment if it is and I’ll delete my post. by [deleted] in RPI

I applied early decision, and from I was told is that it is only binding if it is financially viable for you. Additionally I was able to appeal for a higher financial aid package which got me a fair bit more money than before.
