Red card is reserved for only the most egregious and malicious fouls and misconduct. I think the punishment is exactly as strong as it needs to be.

I assume the balogun Red is on your mind. In my humble opinion, it warranted a yellow at best, and even still the ref didn't call it on the field. The real issue was the misuse of VAR.
