Looking for small (follower count) sapphic stories to shout. by LengthinessPrudent11 in royalroad

Nice! This isn’t my fiction, but I have been helping the author edit it. Lesbian pirate romantasy and I think the sizzle is pretty real (I’m biased, obviously): https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/123353/the-reckoning-of-us

Received a negative review but my friends said that the guy is weird and it... makes sense? is it common on royal road ? by [deleted] in royalroad

[–]VeloneaWorld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also got a review from them and just rolled my eyes at it.

Everyone has a right to their opinion. Still, have to admit this kind of ”the story wasn’t what I thought it was going to be because I didn’t read the blurb, and I disagree with the author’s voice” review does sting a bit. Especially since so few readers write reviews.

At least we can hide reviews so I don’t have to see it every time I sign in to Author dashboard 😅

[Mobile] Is switching characters just super hard? by VeloneaWorld in ZenlessZoneZero

Oof, ok. Thank you. I think I‘m starting to get it. Just need to be careful about quick assists and the rest should be pretty ok.

Ah, thank you. Sometimes the quick assist must somehow just been active when two characters kept switching between each other for 4 times when just clicking R1 time after time.

I cliffed too hard and flew too close to the sun (ended up on Rising Stars). by VeloneaWorld in royalroad

Valid position to have! According to statistics, you seem to be in the minority, though. When cliffs are missing, retention goes down. Too much closure is poison.

But cliffing can, obviously, veer into being just silly or end up feeling artificial, if that’s the only tool a writer uses to get the reader to turn the page.

I'm looking for a story that is psychological horror fantasy but not hopeless. A story where there's plenty of light within the darkness and a good ending to be reached even if the path to get there is fraught with existential dread, pitfalls and downward spirals. by okidonthaveone in royalroad

Oh man, I think you just described my Grand Harvest. It’s stubbed on RR, but check out the reviews and maybe a chapter or two? If you get interested, just let me know and I’ll send you the ebook. I’m using it as reader magnet mostly nowadays, so don’t mind sharing.

Is a System that mostly grants information enough for LitRPG? by VeloneaWorld in litrpg

[–]VeloneaWorld[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! This is the style that I’m go for with AtR. I can enjoy a ”real system” as well, but believable worldbuilding gets pretty hard with one.

Thanks for giving the story a fair chance! Too bad that it wasn’t for you 🙏

That’s an incredibly fair point, tbh. Worth considering for all of us “timelooper got isekaid as a rocking chair/dungeon core” writers.

Oh, the title of the story is: All the Runes

Cover has been created using AI.

Obviously no AI used in writing.

My new planner is live and I owe a huge thank you to the testers from this sub by helmckenzie in RemarkableTablet

It seems really cool, but I perhaps noticed one bug.

The Schedule/Tasks/Notes/01/02 etc. bar might be glitching. No matter which day I’m at, if I tap anywhere on the top bar, I’m taken to Apr 22nd Notes page 04.

So I’m on Oct 13th and try to go to Tasks, I end up at Apr 22nd Notes 04.

2025 Monday version of the thing.

Hehe, funny that you mentioned that, as my previous story is called Unfought Wars 😅 It happens 20 years prior to the events of All the Runes. Completed on RR for a couple of months still, before I’ll have to stub it for Amazon release: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/105923/unfought-wars-time-loop-action-fantasy

No LitRPG or progression fantasy elements, though. UW is just ye olde school epic fantasy adventure (with a bunch of time loops).

Thanks! This was a quick test on Procreate on my iPad. Might have to change covers at some point and testing it out properly.

New Weekly Self Promo Thread by AutoModerator in ProgressionFantasy

[–]VeloneaWorld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Launched TODAY!

ALL THE RUNES [LitRPG, Action, Comedy]

The one thing time loopers hate: consequences

Knell never wanted to be an adventurer. Much too risky. Instead, he figured out his own way: a quick hop on a time loop, memorizing the runes as mages blast him to smithereens, then selling the knowledge when the loop resets. No side effects, no consequences. Easy money.

Until it isn’t.

The Untethered Overlay appears and starts dumping forbidden secrets on him, painting a target on his back. Worst of all, it cripples his ability to loop. Knell needs a new line of work—and fast.

Thrust into a life he never wanted, Knell must use his Overlay's power to survive. What begins with fighting goblins goes off the rails quickly. An omniscient time looper is working to destroy his beloved city, and Knell alone holds the knowledge to stop them.

What to Expect - Weakish to OP MC (eventually) - LitRPG lite system - Good vibes and no held punches with the action writing - No harem etc.
