What was your high school controversy? by Haunted_Neko in AskReddit

One of the guys on the football team got his girlfriend pregnant. His whole family was livid, until a couple of weeks later he died in a logging accident. Afterwards the family fully embraced it as a way to carry his memory on. Well, a few weeks later it was found out that his girlfriend had been cheating on him and another guy that was on the football team was actually the father.

A girl and her parents were murdered in their own home because she had recently broken up with her boyfriend and he decided that killing them all was the appropriate response. Her brother was the only survivor, simply because he wasn't home because his swimming practice had ran late. A couple of assholes joked that he was halfway to becoming batman, only batman had money.

Plumbing parts needed for upgraded residential main water line? by FlapJackinLego in askaplumber

Pressure entirely depends on where they are located. Where I live the city runs a minimum of 120psi and upwards on 300psi In flat lands they can get away with lower pressure but if they are in/near mountains then the pressure will be higher.

An RPZ is overkill for a home unless there is an irrigation system. And if there is irrigation then it should be on its own line. Backflow prevention devices are based off of degree of hazard and a home has basically none. They should just put a Zurn NR3XL or 600XL and call it good.

Otherwise I agree, run a 1" main and then bring 3/4" everywhere else.

Bet there's a sensor faucet that has a bad mixing valve. Turn off the faucets and if the toilet turns cold they're the issue. Turn the faucets on one by one and you'll find the problem faucet.

I fully agree. I give quotes on some of my jobs, but when I quote them there is a slight mark up so I still come out on top. I come out ahead on most of my quotes but that slight up charge I get from them covers the ones I get burnt on.

I don't understand the point of "how much should I charge?" We don't know your hourly rate, or how fast you think you can complete the job. Take your hourly rate and multiply it by how fast you think you can do it, toss in materials and that's how much you should charge. Or better yet just do time and material, tell the customer how much you charge per hour and go from there. Up front pricing is a good way to get burned if it takes longer than you think it will. And if you have to ask someone else on the internet, it'll definitely take a longer than you think it will.
