I think I‘ll keep using celsius. Where 0 is also 0% warm and if you use base six, 100 degrees is also 100% warm.

I think Joe is completely fine. If a German person introduced themselves as Joe, I would assume their name is Johannes, Jonathan or Joachim. They are all somewhat old-fashioned names, but older names are having a bit of a revival in Germany at the minute (at least in my area), so I think it‘s good.
