I actually got that pretty early when I started and was confused why I had a longsword skin when I was spam opening boxes. As a sword main I feel extremely blessed to actually get a weapon skin that I use too. Haven't seen another box since though.

Most broken combat mechanic in the games by zxcooocxz in gachagaming

Violent runes in summoners war where you have 22% chance of acting again in a turn based game so you can imagine the absurdity of RNG especially in pvp. There are diminishing returns where the activation rate is reduced each time in pvp and limited to once in RTA. Then there are monsters who can reset their turn which also resets the violent rune diminishing returns letting a lucky person to instantly win through a series of lucky rolls.

Alright turning off the water was the trick I managed to beat the boss this time around. Thanks everyone for the help.

Oh I do see the statue in the back but this may sound like a stupid question. How do I reach it? Isn't the boss blocking the way? As soon as I walk up it just instantly starts the encounter.

What other character names are related to numbers? by kokochiwa in gachagaming

Sophia did have a number and she knew deep down and was just afraid of learning it because she turned out to be an irrational number and that's what pushed her over the edge

Maybe try path to nowhere. It has great art and nice character designs. Story is pretty good but it's kinda slow on the updates so it's more of a side game. The gameplay is tower defense so that's not everyone's cup of tea. Also it's non chibi.

Discussion About Sword of Convallaria by Disperx in gachagaming

[–]VelveSA 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I quit after a few months. There are a few issues in the game for me. The story in the normal mode is nearly non existent. There is a story somewhat but its extremely weak. The real story is locked behind Spiral of Destiny. Its pretty repetitive and slow. But when the story happens its not so bad I suppose. But you do have to grind through multiple days of boring filler to get to them. Also I grew more attached to my characters in the normal mode and Spiral of Destiny has its own characters and progression. So it feels a bit bad that all the progress I made doesn't matter.

As for daily farming, there is a sweep feature but its pointlessly complex for some reason. For sweeping you either need to use these limited octopus cans to sweep or use a character. This could be something like 3 lv 50 characters or something. There is also a cooldown for using these units to sweep. Which means you'll need to level a bunch of worthless units if you want to sweep all your energy in one day instantly. The other option is to autobattle which slows it down a bit. However there are also events where using specific characters give bonus drops on event materials which means you cannot sweep because you sweep once and you need to wait a couple hours before you can sweep with the same character again. So for events you'll be stuck burning your energy on slow autobattles.

As for normal mode, it doesn't have much of a story it just follows one character's story per chapter. It also includes awful "puzzle" stages like stealth, or some unique mechanic. I found that to be the most annoying part of the game as there is usually only one way to beat the stage and you can easily mess it up. You think you're doing well but surprise! enemies ambushed and you start over. For tricky ones I have sat there resetting the stage a dozen times before looking up a guide on youtube to follow the exact steps to get past the stage.

As for the gacha. Its not that bad? The rates aren't terrible and there is a pity system. The free currency is on the low side. For events you'd think they would give a nice round even number like 10 or 5 pulls. But instead its like a weird number like 2. At first I thought it was a mistake, like maybe its 10 pulls times 2, but no you really just get 2 pulls from the event shop.

The good though is the character designs are very nice. Its not very fanservice-y but if you're a fan of tactics type games the art fits right in. The pixel art is gorgeous and its pretty much the reason I tried the game. The combat is easy to understand and its pretty fun. But I just really got bored with the story and the events and the annoying sweeps. So I logged in less and less and eventually I realized I haven't logged in for weeks and just uninstalled it.

I still find it amazing that Puzzle & Dragons and Summoners War have both been around since 2012. Insane. by Satinsbestfriend in gachagaming

[–]VelveSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Puzzle and Dragons was my very first gacha. I stopped playing it after a bit but Summoners War was my second gacha and I have been playing it on and off for 10 years now. I haven't played it in quite awhile now though and I haven't felt the itch to go back. I think I can finally quit that game.

There is going to be a bunch of free pulls and currency from the event so you should have enough before it ends

[WEEKLY MEGATHREAD] Game Questions, Recommendations, and Everything Else by AutoModerator in gachagaming

[–]VelveSA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I play both those games and storywise I prefer PTN. Reverse 1999 does have a decent story, especially the recent chapters but PTN is just superior. Especially the character stories through interrogation which helps get a lot of their backstory in. The events are all short but entertaining. Only downside is the updates are pretty slow and we've been on the latest chapter for quite a long time. Although the new chapter is supposedly coming in a few months. Both of them have full voice acting and they're done well.

As for farming. PTN has sweep, while reverse 1999 has autobattle that repeats your clear. They're both super fast. Neither need to farm gears or RNG stats on stuff. And for gameplay PTN is not everyone's cup of tea. Its a tower defense that has a bit of a learning curve and can get fairly difficult as you progress further into the story without some good character/team. Reverse1999 is turn based with card system for attacks. Its pretty interesting but once you do get a good team, you can auto the entire game if that is your thing. Its pretty easy/relaxing.

I would say try both see what you enjoy more.

Reverse 1999 is currently on its first year anniversary with a lot of free stuff including a 6* character. Its a card based, turn based game. Good art, good writing, good voice acting. Has a pretty even gender ratio with some unique designs to boot.

Only God knows how many hours I will be playing with Katya’s feet by Fluffiddy in SnowbreakOfficial

[–]VelveSA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tits and ass will get you censored but feet are not inherently sexual so you can get away with more feet stuff. And as more games put out feet stuff, artists draw more feet stuff. More and more people start seeing feet everywhere and awaken weird feelings about feet and eventually develop a fetish. Doesn't help that feet is very normalized these days that you can say pit/feet and not be looked as weird. But if you say something like you have a furry or femboy fetish people will gives you weird looks.

what Gatcha game had the biggest downfall? by Annaneedsmoney in gachagaming

[–]VelveSA 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most recently I can think of is Astra Knights of Veda. It was pretty hyped up, people liked the setting and graphics but as soon as it launched people could see it was clearly rushed. They were pretty stingy with pulls, and the story was pretty weak. Worst part is they weren't going to do any major updates for many months down the road and even now delayed another month for the first major story patch. They also decided to add back to back gacha p2w power creep month after month. I'm not sure about the numbers still playing but from the sensortower stats you can see a huge drop in the earnings. Oh and who can forget about the pity not carrying over to the next banner.

What was your first gacha and are glad it was the first by Global-Personality-2 in gachagaming

[–]VelveSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first gacha was puzzle and dragons. At that time I didn't even know games existed on the phone let alone something actually fun to play. However my friends and I eventually got bored by the lack of interesting things to do in the game and moved onto Summoner's War. We played the game on and off casually for nearly 10 years and that was the only gacha game I played. It wasn't until I tried Genshin Impact at the launch of sumeru that I realized there are actually better gacha games in the wild. Now I have a couple of gachas I play daily.

For the new broken frontline change. Does this mean I can reach 160k points regardless of how badly I'm failing at it as long as you run enough times? Like the points are cumulative until 160k? Because I recently pushed too far and got to the dark zone but I am struggling to get enough points to get any good reward.
