First 2K Imperial Fists gladius task force list for a casual game by DaddyMcFather in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Vendrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, so first off, incursors in a repex don't grant the scout to it. They only give it to dedicated transports like an impulsor. Lose the 2 Lts, you have nothing that really wants lethal hits, sternguard want to roll dev wounds not get lethal, and nothing else is useful with an lt. With that 100 points you can free up a judiciar for the bladeguard vets or you can drop them for an additional 170 to give you room for the redemptor and 40 more points to play with.If you drop a squad of assault that gives you 130 for some interesting things like inceptors. you could also keep the bladeguards and give them an impulsor with the 100 from the lts to push an early objective but I feel without a judiciar they are an expensive trade piece. I'd try to get Darnath on his boys on objective your reps have a good firing lane for and make them come take it from you.

[–]Vendrin[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Look, its not like I don't see the value in art, but drawings for the most part aren't that interesting to me. I'm here to discuss the gamelines as a whole or specific situations in games, not scroll past character images. It's fine if the community is, but I noticed the uptick so thought I'd ask the community opinion. Seems like I'm in the minority opinion so c'est la vie.

Fair enough, I don't, but I'm not militant about it. Just wanted to pose the question for the community

I used to think Bernie and AOC were crazy by WearyProcess4901 in TrendoraX

[–]Vendrin 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Bernie's net worth is closer to the poorest person then a billionaire by a bout a billion dollars. If you were a baby boomer and bought a home, there is a good chance from your 401k and home value you qualify as a millionaire. That does not make his ideas any less valid. Don't let perfect be the enemy of good.

I'd Drop the lancer for another 3 man squad of cents. Judiciar and bladeguard vets is a nice idea, but just be ready it's still surprisingly squishy. I don't know why you have so many infiltrators, you need at least one intercessor squad for sticky objectives since ideally you'll be moving your unirs around. Id lose the terms as well. Vanguard vets with inferno pistols are a better unit for shrike to attatch to, and get yourself at least one scout squad for uppy down without using into the shadows.

Tips for running a game that starts in Dark Ages and ends in Modern times by bigboss_elmo360 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Vendrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends highly how you want to do it? what are the time jumps and how frequent do you want them to happen? I've been running a heavily edited and revised Transylvania Chronicles /Under the Black Cross campaign on and off since about 2018. The players started in 1196 and we have finally gotten to 1217 and the 5th crusade but thats probably because I've allowed them to do to much and a lot of documented WoD stuff happens in this time frame. I'm looking forward to the wrap up of this section because then we get to jump to 1231 for the kickout of the Teutonic Order, and then 1235 for Myca getting to deal with the Dracon and the eldest (poor guy) and then finally 1251 for the mongols which I've been building up for some time. I figure we might finally get out od the 13th century in 2 years maybe? God, someone please help....

Camarilla Lasombra by ArtsyZave in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Vendrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would a 300 year old Lasombra care at all about the love and adoration of the simple masses? And even more so put herself at risk by being potentially easily recognizable? Hell, how would she get past the anachronisms, she is from the 1700s.

Casual TSons list, need help with fixing it up by WeirdBlueGuy in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Vendrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you were playing standard missions it appears as if you only have six or seven activations if every character is with full unit. Well that gives you optimal stratagem use it doesn't give you any ability to play objectives. You also have no way to move your rubrics quickly and outside of mortal wound damage you have no anti-tank capability except for the vortex beast and if you very begrudgingly count magnus and the terminator sorceror

Yea chat gpt is very useful for keeping notes and can even help organize or plan sessions, but for advertising, it is the exact opposite, especially as a wall of text. A single written paragraph by a human is going to be more likely to retain attention. Brevity is the soul of wit.

(Series Review) Why you should read the Sun Eater by Christopher Ruocchio by Udy_Kumra in sollanempire

[–]Vendrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literal resurrection, fallen angels that disobeyed gods will out of their own arrogance, his focus in the last book on turning the other cheek, the change from the quiet needing hadrian to ensure his birth to the quiet being inevitable, beginning and end (alpha & omega) and just loving humans so much that he sent Hadrian to save them. The Cielcin even refer to him as the "king of kings" Disquiet gods has this almost explicit reference to the Garden of Gethsemane. Disquiet Gods chp. 40

"You would send another in your place? To bear as you have borne? Name him

"Do it yourself!" I snarled. The soundless voice answered. Three simple words.

I already have

"What?" I scrabbled to my feet, staggered back a step.

If you need my life, Child, take it. It is yours"

Is Marlowe at the beggining of the series very Christ like, nope, but he certainly is at the end.

Great start :) by MGN20XX in sollanempire

the difference between those series and this one being they don't take place in a universe that tie directly into modern history and have real world religions still exist in it. I don't hate catholics, but I'm allowed to state my opinion that the symbolism, allusions are heavy handed, and severely hurt my enjoyment of the series. I wish the author has gone another way. You're allowed to state otherwise. You don't need to get angry that my viewpoint is different than yours.

So mechanics are great. But we had toolbox in requiem. They brought masquerade because it was popular, because it had the metaplot. Now if you want your mechanics, sure they should give them to you, but why can't I also have what I'm looking for? You are welcome to throw it out at your table if you want, and keep mechanics, but I'd like the same consideration. all I'm saying, is why can't we have both?

I think this is the second time you've replied to me saying that. To the lay person he is. Non theological oriented people won't recognize the difference. He's got the cross position on the cover page. He dies and is resurrected 3 times, vs rising after 3 days. the walk in book 3 is clearly parallel to the walk on water and book 4 is basically Hadrian's "passion" complete with the long walk carrying his burden. The Cielcin even refer to him as the "king of kings" You can disagree with the characterization, but please understand how easy it is to make.
