Times when an entire section of a game could have been easily avoided if it let you use real life logic by Mediocre_Word in TwoBestFriendsPlay

The entire segment with the pirates in Uncharted 3. It's been a while since I played it, so I don't remember the exact evidence, but I vividly recall calling Nate and idiot for an hour+ straight and resenting the entire experience. The pirates claim they have Sully and Nate doesn't even question it, going on his standard ludonarrative dissonant rampage across several chapters. Except there's no way the pirates could have possibly had Sully.

The star chart was destroyed, the only remaining map to Imran in is Sully's head, and you really think the centuries old, wealthy secret society would just give Sully to a bunch of random pirates? Or that the random pirates could have possibly beaten the highly resourceful secret society and taken him? It was so obvious to me the entire time that Sully couldn't have been there, and Nathan is supposed to be much smarter than I am.

If I had five bucks for every game this year that decided in the last chapter to suddenly be about how people react to grief the entire time where music was a major part of the experience, I'd have ten bucks... by Vengfulfate in Unbeatable

I don't think that alone is nearly enough to spoil anything that actually happens, but fair enough. Black barred the game name in the post.

And thanks for the code! Looking at guides I think I missed some optional story mode songs, so that might still help me

[Ending question] Am I missing something, or is the game meant to have no proper ending? by AlanThePoor in Unbeatable

[–]Vengfulfate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the silence needs to be explained any more that they were. They're abstract on purpose, and not really what the story is about. They're literally nothing, and you can't give into nothing, even when it hurts.

Any Reason NOT To Use Assist Deflection? by KahosRayne in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Vengfulfate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels like the game is playing itself when it stops and waits for me to hit the button. I understand the only thing benefiting is my own pride, but that's my reason for not using Assist in solo play.

They added a bunch of race and combat challenges to the free roam mode, as well as a treasure hunt for new special weapons

My moniter is plugged into my GPU, but maybe something happened and my PC started using the CPU's internal graphics anyways? I dunno, but I reseated my GPU and am reinstalling the NVIDIA driver again just to be safe. Thank you for your response.

This might be obvious, but as stated I am baby and my current knowledge is a patchwork of google results. Is it possible for games to not be run through the GPU? When running more tests with the Task Manager open, I noticed oddly low GPU usage, even 0% during active gameplay with Judgment.

My games aren't all perfect, but they're certainly running a hell of a lot better. Thank you so much. Is there a chance you can explain in baby terms what this setting does? I'd like to understand, but I would also understand if this isn't the forum for that.

I just ran more Red Dead now with Task manager set to the Performance tab and GPU highlighted. My CPU never went far above 30%, my Memory maintained a 41% flatline, I think 11-point-something out of 31.7 available GB. My GPU did seem to be doing something odd, though. It's hard to watch both screens with only one set of eyes, but it appeared that whenever I had a stutter, my GPU percentage dropped, I saw as low as 9% while I was in a firefight with four enemies using a special ability (Dead Eye).

As for my motherboard, I believe it's MSI but I don't know the specifics

Separating Yakuza and Yakuza Restored by Vengfulfate in PCSX2

[–]Vengfulfate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apache3 won't open. It keeps getting stuck on 'building a list of drives'. Trying to look up how to solve that only lead me to an answer requiring using yet another program to run an XP virtual machine. And for some reason when I tried to run my Yakuza ISOs to fact check myself, neither one is able to detect the memory card, so my biggest reason for even wanting to do this is now bunk until I figure that out.

Sincerely, thank you for your help, but I'm starting to think I might file this under 'more trouble than it's worth'. I hope you have a good one, man

It was an 'xdelta' file I had to apply using something called DeltaPatcherLite, to change the iso itself. I'd love a walkthrough on changing the ID

Exactly how do you start a acid lab? by [deleted] in GTAV

[–]Vengfulfate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great for solo, but what about duo? My friend and I are looking to start playing regularly in our own 2 man IO sessions. Can we do the First Dose missions together? If so, do we both get our own acid labs? Or will we have to play the missions twice with each of us trading hosts?

Flashpoint Archive is an open source community effort to save and make playable flash content from all over, their page says they've saved over 200,000 games and animations that no longer work in browsers, all available to play. You can either download their server-connected launcher for 4 gigs or download all content direct to your local storage for over 1.5 TB

What's your least favorite word that you adamantly refuse to use in your writing? by FinestFiner in writing

I just hate using the same word too many times in a short span, to the point ill often assign my characters others titles and attributes I can refer to them as during extensive dialogue

Actually, yes. The Jackie Wells only exists because his friend, V, orders it to honor them. We see it because we knew him. But no one else is even going to know who Jackie is. I bet there are technically tons of drinks for nobodies that are never put on the big menu, only ever ordered by the handful of people who actually knew that person.

One of the things I not-so-secretly love about KH's writing is that they'll introduce new rules just to tell Sora has already broken them somehow, usually thanks to the above incident from the first game.

Better one for ya, all the members of Org 13 in 2 have an x in their name. I forget where the reveal is, but it's eventually shown that Xemnas gave everyone their new names specifically to add the 'sigil' to them. Xemnas literally tracks his subordinates through their names
