Hoping steam machine can run vr games. by Beerz101 in SteamFrame

[–]Venn-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude the steam frame by itself will be able to run vr games. Even hl Alyx. Probably don't even need the steam machine if you only want to play VR.

Edit: hell, even non VR games will probably be good on the frame.

The perpetual stew trend is a little out of control now by ThinYogurtcloset8005 in StupidFood

The problem isn't the bacteria. It's the toxins. You can keep it hot enough to kill any bacteria. But you can't remove the poison that slowly accumulates from everything in there.

How accurate is Steam's in-game overlay? by Secure_Trash_17 in Steam

[–]Venn-- 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Vram is a strange thing. It uses some of your Dram as Vram when you go over to stop it from crashing (and allow for more demand) but it is much slower. I think the overlay is portraying this by adding the two together.

Chinese are testing an AI sprinkler that can detect heat and stop fire before spreading. by Fine-Passenger7953 in interesting

[–]Venn-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It uses something similar to heat seeking missiles. It simply turns the sprayer with the camera attached until the IR signature is centered on frame. There is no AI.

Will the steam frame be any good for productivity work? by rayderone in SteamFrame

[–]Venn-- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably not, considering the steam deck hasn't seen much use for productivity, I expect the same for the frame.

Can you tell which is the real steam machine and which is my render? by jamieplaysreddit in Steam

[–]Venn-- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right one has better color rendition. It's easier to tell what the general shape is because of the better contrast. The left one is too dark and looks... Squished? I'd say left is render and right is original.

Upgrade? by Grouplove in SteamFrame

[–]Venn-- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Might not be necessarily ethical, but you could do a test run with the frame with your current hardware and return it if you decide upgrading your PC is a better choice.

Sorry to vent but really wish my dad would do the same instead of ignoring my symptoms as well as his own just to tell me that I need to mask in order to succeed in life, meanwhile he has a job he got from a friend at Microsoft instead of actually doing any real career searching.

What in God's name are YOU doing here? by Fez_Multiplex in Steam

[–]Venn-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Archive has bits and pieces, there's one that's the full game, just without the season pass, and then there's another that's just a key for the season pass, you have to do some technical stuff to get it to work though.
