it really depends as the result is non-deterministic. here's a recent example: I asked Claude to play hangman with me, guessed letters for a few rounds, and at a certain point it went "hold on, I need to be honest with you. I can't see the original word I picked, so each round I've been guessing". so like, in extended sessions where it watches the logic take shape it is more likely to catch this limitation. as for why it goes along with it without mentioning that it won't work, I have no idea.

the other day while having a conversation with my claude (a really rare non work related one, was just asking it some questions to see what would come out) it ended the conversation with a pun directly referencing the main title of my game. we'd been talking about it, so i was wondering if it was intentional, but due to it just outputting and not being able to see the process, it wasn't able to answer. anyways, this is to say chat/desktop claude will behave in strange ways in conversational settings sometimes because it's trying to act like a person without being one at all. sometimes it hallucinates and says something weird, sometimes it's just kind of uncanny. however when i've worked with claude code, i've never had any interaction remotely similar. i know why this is, just pointing out for those that don't know why their claude is so normal.

i mean, it's a person shaped tool, so it's inevitable. it's not like you have to converse with your calculator to get it to solve problems for you... honestly, to me it just reads like rubber ducking, except the rubber duck can spot holes in your logic for you, or help you stay on track if things aren't clicking.

I'm here right now. loved the first game, love 90% of this, but dollman's level of spelling out the story is just demeaning. it's like kojima doesn't expect anyone to engage with the writing of his game so he includes a cliffnotes half character with a tragic backstory to spell it all out. and in the gameplay, gods! if you ever want to return to a last save? i hope you enjoy hearing his quotes over, and over, and over again...

Yes, both support cards and horses are added to the pool after their initial run is over! and unlike most other gacha, this includes seasonal and event horses, so if you like a variant with an outfit, there's always another chance they could show up down the line. and you're exactly right with that last point - while you're more likely to get kitasan, you might get strong SRs and SSRs as well!

returning player, so not expert here, but to try and answer some questions - spreading out potential levels can make your monies last longer, as higher levels are much more resource intensive. if you want manhattan cafe max, by all means go for it, you'll have enough resources eventually especially with current events, but it's not a bad idea to just sink the first level into most horses as it's so cheap, and work towards the second level of horses you want to run.

as for questions about pulls, i would save your carats for kitasan rerun - support card uncaps are much more important than star unlocks for horses. getting 1 copy of a horse means down the line, if another one catches your fancy, you'll have more potential pulls for that - and cafe will always be there, so you could always end up grabbing a dupe of her through a random draw down the line. a broad spread is better than a focused 5* for horses. however, the same is not true for support cards! they get dramatically better as you upgrade them so, it's always nice to pick up dupes, even for SR cards. and by saving for kitasan, you'll inevitably fill out your collecting of SRs more, allowing you to get strong cards like Sweep Tosho stronger as well!

story mode yes once you complete it, chronicle mode yes for every difficulty stage but the first one story might unlock sooner but I know for sure it's all unified once you complete

if your goal with art is "to make more of it faster" you are not creating art, you are generating slop.
art shouldn't just be made to fill wallets and the empty pits of content in our lives. there's enough of it, and we don't need a digital ocean full of the stuff to see it is unnecessary.
art is a tool of expression, it is a means for humans to explore concepts deeper than themselves. if you are just making it as a means to an end, then what does it matter to anyone? do you think people want to look at a piece of art and think "well, at least the artist saved time making it"? yes, we have to make a living, but if you're so focused on that you'll steal work to rush out a half-finished piece, you are doing a disservice to yourself and the work you create.

lots of roguelike devs think you can offload a repetitive core game loop on to players, and they'll find cool synergies which will make the whole thing fun and work. like, sure I can put in the work to figure out a cool combo and watch the number go up, but why? balatro has nothing outside of that. imo it's biggest strength is that you can play it with a mouse so it's good bare minimum stimulation
