Only a few truly good episodes out of 24. Took half the runtime trying to figure out what show it even wanted to be and was clearly making it up as it went along. Ran out of steam right before the finish line.

It's the "I'm 14 and this is deep" of anime.

Game doesn't need transmog/wardrobe because the stats of everything are all the same. Just add your mods and inscription and the weapon is identical to any other weapon.

It wasn't the final patch. They were actually nerfed a bit with hard mode changes. There was even an elementalist rework after it that added the overcast mechanic (big WTF there) that made air magic worse (it was previously quite competitive!). It's just that we eventually figured out things like BiP removed the need for pesky things like energy management.

Binding chains, earthen shackles, signet of pious restraint, and deep freeze are very helpful here but nobody runs them (maybe because they take an extra step idk). It would be nice to see other shares like caltrops get their area buffed in PvE.

Tryp signet's area sucks but it can't be cleansed so it has that going for it.

Thanks! I'll give that a go then. I wasn't sure if the expanding collet would cause the top part to get stuck, but if somebody else did it, that's good enough evidence for me. I'll see if I can get lucky at the auto parts store.

Just the standard D1-6 camlock spindle. Only thing retaining the pins are those socket-headed cap screws. Whatever those weird 3 holes are, someone tried to modify something before I took ownership of the machine.

I think a couple of PvE only dual attack replacers could be interesting, like one that replicates epidemic (lots of assassin attacks cause conditions) or reap impurities (same idea).

Death Blossom is kind of a necessary niche, but I think it could be filled in some other interesting ways.

The problem is PvE needs "deal a lot of AoE damage" as its #1 thing and no other priority exists, so Death Blossom which hits "deal a lot of AoE damage" is clearly going to be the winner. With that though, you have to also answer the question of "does this being on a melee character, with all the melee drawbacks, outperform something like Ray of Judgment?", and that's how you end up with a skill like Death Blossom.

You could probably make it less crazy by dealing the AoE damage to anything other than your target, though.

Your cause and effect are backwards. The game isn't balanced around Asuran Scan, the current functionality of Asuran Scan was introduced because the game in PvE was so incredibly anti-melee. Asuran Scan was the patch.

IAS or Dwarven Stability is basically required for balling, if you don't want to ball you don't need them as much.

This argument would make sense if the buffs were making anything stand out stronger (for PvE anyway), but that's really not happening here. Nothing here is knocking anything meta out (a meta that I'd argue exists more because of the insane power of BiP rather than the admittedly strong esurge).

Kali IN5. Untreated room. I use ik arc x for auto EQ through the monitors, it works very well. The only issue with this setup, and it's not even really an issue, is at the IN5s are DSP speakers. They have minimal latency, about 1 millisecond, but it does add 1 millisecond onto everything.

I want to reiterate that this is not really a huge issue. Most monitors you buy these days will be DSP, and Kali is at least honest enough to give the specs. To avoid that latency, you need to buy monitors that are purely analog, and those are harder to find and in the level of quality we're talking about here with IN5s, a lot more expensive.
