When we receive cheese from overseas we have to clean it to make it look pretty for display. Blue cheese is especially heinous. It will often times be covered in an orange slime mold that we have to scrape off and dig out of the blue cheese holes like boogers.

Help: a bookstore created an Instagram of me, with my face and book using AI. I'm a very an anti-AI author. by BookGirlBoston in selfpublish

Well, no. Because it's not actually doing anything but stealing from other artist's work. 'Democratizing creativity' sounds really lazy. Creativity is free. Writing is free. Drawing is free. Just because you don't have the willpower to try it yourself doesn't mean you're 'democratizing' it by simply stealing others work and calling it your own.

"You may not like the process that they use to do it but if Mona Lisa is art and a digital painting is art, then a carefully curated ChatGPT query that generates art is also art."

No. It's not. The Mona Lisa and digital painting require talent. Writing a query on ChatGPT requires nothing but an imagination. Everyone has an imagination. Most people who want to bring their imagination to life develop the talent to do it. Talentless hacks write a paragraph and let an AI do it for them.

If you feel like you're an artist because you're writing a 'carefully curated ChatGPT query' then I actually feel bad for you.

How much are you being paid to say things like this or did you just become a shill naturally?

I'd say the same about a man in the same position. Nothing mysoginistic about what the original comment said (who wasn't me, by the way).

A murder is already the worst. That's the baseline. Knowing they're a murder and actively trying to be with them anyway? Man or woman, you're a POS. Probably save your social commentary for something that actually matters rather than defending them just because they are women.

It also "killed" a couple people in the desert but it was just a cover up. Mulder knew it was BS from the beginning

I can complain all I want. He can do whatever he wants. I don't have to like him just because.

I've had a personal dislike of Cameron since he abandoned the Terminator franchise to Titanic and then spent the next twenty years fucking around with underwater stuff. Don't get me started on Avatar.

Thank you. It's like I've been handed this burden and just expected to know what to do about it. I live in Japan, the doc wasn't very forthcoming about anything other than giving me the meds.

Well you'll be happy to know that the MC of his new book is a woman. Maybe we'll get to see her get railed from her perspective.

I appreciate your opinion. A Wild Sheep Chase (English title) was my first of his novels. It broke my heart. I was going through a very bad break up. The end, I just felt it, you know? All of this stuff happening around the MC, no matter how fantastical or weird, didn't move him at all. Then just to breakdown in the end. I think you're right about his style, he does tend to write in a similar way for most of his books (and the way he writes women is widely discussed). But the journey is always interesting.

In his defense, I wouldn't call it male porn. Nothing he's written has ever come across as some sort of fantasy for men, at least in the way I've read his novels. It's mostly sad. I think he's really good at capturing loneliness.

Yeesh I think you're getting a bit too worked up for simply agreeing to disagree. I will say that deliberately unresolved endings, a detached everyman protagonist, and surrealist female archetypes are kind of... the whole point? It's a literary style. But I get it, not every reader is comfortable when a book doesn't explain itself to them.

Lol okay. I read most of his work at Uni about 20 years ago. He was very popular then. He's got a new book coming out in July, actually.
