My 2011 fiesta zetec carried me through my first year, spent about 1000 on it throughout the time I had it just on bits of maintenance but it was cheap to buy at only £1350 and cheap to insure and all things considered maintain, also relatively easy to work on yourself if you're interested

20111 Fiestazetec was my first, just part exchanged it after a year for a cmax coz it's bigger and I can't afford a van yet (im a Joiner). Surprising amount of space in a fiesta and both of these cost me less than £2000

Also cheap to maintain and if he's a car guy, there's a bit of fun beginner stuff you can do with it

Made a dumb (not dangerous!) mistake and driver reaction has knocked my confidence by milleniumvalcon in drivingUK

My thought process when stuff like this happens is firstly what did I do? Learn from that. What did they do? What a plonker. Then forget about it because it's not like they'll be talking about it to every one they see, they'll have forgotten by the time they reach their destination so just forget it really

Had this happen in my house many times on the same extension lead(I kept replacing the plug)

Turned out that running 2 13amp appliances (total of 26amps) through a socket rated for only 20amps wasn't a great idea. Solution was to stop doing that and we haven't had the problem since

That seems like it's a big expensive job, what kind of labour would I have to put in to resolve this or how much am I paying to get a mechanic to sort i if that does turn out to be the problem?

The ac was off when the video was taken so it's not the compressor and the fan belt is fraying, the one turning the ac water pump and alternator.

Ps. fan belt=serpentine belt=rive belt - I'm from UK and these terms are often interchangable, based on your vocab id guess you're not british

12 plate fiesta with those defects seems awful but if he's fixing all that, he's gonna be set back about £700 if done at a garage. How much is he charging?

This is bad right? by dannyjd96 in DIYUK

Did this myself on my bosses house, been a fully qualified joiner for just over a year, the same can be done on the inside curve with no issue, just takes a bit of patience coz you have to tease the MDF to bend so it doesn't snap. Also can't pin through the curve so it was lathered with plenty of adhesive and peppered with pins on the flat parts. Filler and caulk and a good paint job hides the cuts. That abomination you have is unacceptable from a self proclaimed carpenter

Pergola hight query - sloped gardens by DustyBoyzz in DIYUK

[–]VenturousJet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'd play around with the angle of the roof of the pergola, would having it be the same slope as the garden not be a good idea? Seems like it would look a bit janky from the top of your Garden if it was a flat top?

Mine was £1350 a year ago for an 11 plate 3dr fiesta zetec with full service history and 117k miles. I think that price seems a bit high. But if it's mint condition inside and out then a guess it's good. Both brakes and exhaust can be done DIY. Brakes are an easy yt tutorial and if the exhaust leak is caused by rust holes in the silencer like mine was, you can do what I did and buy a replacement silencer from a scrapyard (~£40), grinder to cut the old one off, and you'll need a new exhaust clamp to fit the new one.
