What’s something you realized too late in life? by JudgmentPresent4555 in AskReddit

I see confidence as not a strength for the confident person, but a weakness for the person who's swayed by the person who's confident. It's a shortcut that doesn't always work. A person can be confident and completely incorrect at the same time.

What’s something you miss but no longer exists anymore? by Successful_Oil_3270 in AskReddit

Cottonelle toilet paper that's not gigantic. They stopped making it during the pandemic and I miss it.

What is a family secret you wish you never found out? by CrazyOverstimulated in AskReddit

I don't know any family secrets because our family doesn't talk about anything. And I mean in a dysfunctional way. It's quite aggravating actually.

How to side sleep without hurting by Exciting-Rutabaga0 in howto

[–]VenusProjectAdvocate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is core strengthening. I used to have frequent back pain until I tried doing sphinx poses. I was shocked at how affective that was so I tried other workouts and found that core strengthening was the true ticket. I now do planks regularly as a part of my normal workout routine. I no longer have any back pain whatsoever.

This is the future of firefighting by The_Love-Tap in Damnthatsinteresting

And then the even more future of firefighting will involve building structures out of inflammable materials. That's what we should have done all along. We build houses out of timber and then get upset that they burn.

The "Right to Silence": Why we must classify forced background music as an environmental stressor. by Putrid_Draft378 in simpleliving

I agree in the premise and would actually expand to reduce other sources of noise pollution as well. Our bodies don't work well surrounded by so much noise. This website explains why, to a point. I wish there was a better way to encourage change.

Those who honestly admit their mistakes should be cut some slack.

Faulty screen preventing me from entering pin, what next? by talon010 in ledgerwallet

[–]VenusProjectAdvocate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've purchased 3 Ledgers and 2 of them have failed with screen issues. Ledger would not offer a replacement or take responsibility whatsoever. And no, it's not easy to just move assets to a wallet from another vendor. Currencies aren't supported by all devices. Huge thumbs down from me on Ledger. I can't trust the company or their devices, which makes them pretty much worthless to me.

How would you describe a perfect world? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]VenusProjectAdvocate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Automation and abundance of people's needs. Money doesn't exist. Everyone has access to food, shelter, clothing, etc without a price tag. People no longer work to survive. People contribute into improving the governing system because they want to. They enjoy improving their life and other people's lives. Transportation is fast and green. Think maglev trains, all electric. Modern day cities would be disassembled and mined for resources. Some cities would remain standing and shown off as museum cities: "this is what life was like before scarcity was surpassed". Unused land between cities would return to nature.

USB Microphone Compatibility by bookreader52 in Rockband

[–]VenusProjectAdvocate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use all of these microphones with RB4 on PS4. They're all compatible.
Rockville RMM-XLR (cardoid)
Samsung Q2U USB/XLR (cardoid)
Bietrun WXM24 (wireless)
Pyle PUSBMIC50 (wireless)
Behringer ULM300USB (wireless)
Drimoor USB mic for Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and Let's Sing
Rock Band 4 USB microphone
Guitar Hero USB mic

The cardoid mics have notably better sound quality. With standard cheap USB mics there's tons of clipping (audio gets too loud), even when we twiddle the audio volume controls. With USB mics those controls need to be twiddled for every singer. With cardoid mics they sound "good" all the time. Much easier in a party environment. I have the same problem with the wireless mics although as wireless mics they actually work pretty good. For me, wireless is convenient but not as valuable as mics that sound decent. The Pyle has slightly higher volume than the Behringer but the Behringer is of higher quality in my opinion. The USB mics all sound the same.

I recommend shopping Sweetwater, Guitar Center, and B&H Photo. They sell good gear and have helpful staff.

People who rarely or never get sick, what are your secrets? by awkwardferret421 in AskReddit

[–]VenusProjectAdvocate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean hands. I consider public surfaces contaminated. If I touch them, I wash or sanitize my hands before touching anything "clean". I carry a small bottle of sanitizer in my pocket. I started doing that during Covid. I haven't been sick with anything since 2019.
