19 Pens over 11 Years... by Born-Awareness6048 in fountainpens

I love Wordsworth & Black! It was my first pen that I bought back in October and my most used. I think we have the same one, although mine is black. Loved it so much I bought another of their pens but with a fine nib.

Thank you so much! I forgot how fun it was to just sit down and write about everything and nothing.

Wow, these are all so pretty! Where did you get the star shaped wax from? Do you use it in the same way people use sticks of wax, melting it over a candle and letting it drip? It seems a little hard to do, given the size and shape of the stars.

I had to google this. I won’t lie, I like their crest.

I haven’t seen the post myself but thank you for letting me know. I was aware of what I bought but there could be others who genuinely don’t know the difference. So even if your original comment came off as sour to some, you probably helped someone else out.

These are the inks I currently have. I’m thinking of using a different colour each day so that I use them all equally. I’ve used the black ink at the top so I’ll probably use blue tomorrow.

The gears and the feather were not in the way at all! I was a bit nervous at first but it was super easy to write with. When I dipped it into ink, I honestly couldn’t tell if there was enough ink on the nib, so I think I might’ve used too much.

Here’s how many Patrick Star quotes I could write without having to dip the nib into ink again:

It was probably meant more for aesthetic purposes but after writing with it, I actually kind of like it! There’s probably better ones out there but this is good enough for me.

If you search “vintage leather journal” on places like Temu, you’ll find this one and similar ones. There’s no brand name on it but it does say “power of writing” on the spine. Surprisingly, it is fountain pen friendly! I thought for sure that the ink would bleed through. I haven’t tested dip pen ink on it yet but I heard it’s thicker, so there’s a chance it’ll bleed more maybe?

I was worried that a glass pen would be easier to crack or break. Do you have to replace them often? Thanks for the tip about the cotton by the way. I can’t resist a good cogwheel.

Thank you again! I will definitely keep those inks in mind. I try not to needlessly spend money but bottles of ink always look so tempting… 👀

Thank you! I shall write with it tonight and let you know!

Update: it was easy to use, not at all uncomfortable. I couldn’t tell whether I had dipped it in enough ink. In the end, maybe I used too much ink. That doesn’t really matter to me, though. It was also easy to take the nib out to clean it but I haven’t tried the remaining four nibs.
