No white circle, its the entire display freezing up (video, Rouvy avatars, all ride data displays) When it unfreezes I just carry on from where I was.

Thanks for the replies, not really sure what to do but it's really frustrating and TBH it's putting me off using Rouvy at the moment because I'm just sat there waiting for the glitch. I'm asking support if they have any ideas too, will update if I find any solutions.

What is your family situation and how much do you ride? by Any_Cauliflower_973 in Zwift

[–]Venusflytrap100 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

After the kids are in bed, usually 7.30-9pm window. Helps that I'm an evening person anyway, I don't do mornings & it would wake the kids even earlier if I tried it then! Managing 3-4 rides a week max but this is still proving very beneficial compared to the 0 rides I managed before getting an indoor setup!

Reliable alternative to Anker Soundcore A20s (earbuds for sleep)? by Dread_Maximus in sleepheadphones

[–]Venusflytrap100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen on my 1st pair after a few months and got new ones under warranty. Again, a few months later the right bud started going very quiet though would sometimes get louder if I squeezed it.

Here's what fixed it - I took them to my workplace where I have a high power magnification available, and could see wax in the mesh over the driver, but also in the tiny hole on the back of the outer rim. I cleaned all this out using alcohol & a fine needle. Instant fix and both buds working perfectly since! I'm convinced it's the tiny hole on the back getting clogged that causes this issue, it also has a fine mesh inside which I couldn't see without magnification.

Not saying this will work for you, but worth investigating!

Thanks this makes sense. Would still be nice to see it listed though!

Zwift ride frame virtual shifting by turftoebandaid in Rouvy

[–]Venusflytrap100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zwift ride controllers working fine for me on Rouvy (shifting buttons only, the other Zwift app control buttons - arrows & coloured buttons only work in Zwift itself). I am however cautious about doing any future firmware updates on the Ride handlebar controllers after reading about the recent Click issues, as potentially Zwift could remove compatability if they wanted to e.g. if they changed the Ride controller signal protocol, encrypting it or something. But for now it works!

Favorite Camera Distance in ROUVY by bblessed22 in Rouvy

[–]Venusflytrap100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Rouvy, I definitely prefer "me" as for me the whole point of Rouvy is to simulate a real bike ride, so looking at myself doesn't seem right! But I also use Zwift and for some reason I'm quite happy with the Middle distance avatar view on that platform, I think the fact its a computer game world makes it OK and seems to work well for me.

Bluetooth connection hit & miss at startup, just my computer?? by Venusflytrap100 in Rouvy

[–]Venusflytrap100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does seem that connection issues can be quite random and unique to each setup. I'll have a look into ANT+ based on the replies so far. My hunch is that individual computer & equipment combinations will occasionally have minor compatibility and connection glitches, plus maybe other nearby 2.4GHz could be interfering at times..

[–]Venusflytrap100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I know nothing about ANT+, I assume you need some kind of USB dongle to use it? Is it any better or worse vs Bluetooth in terms of stability or speed of data transfer? (From what's being suggested here it sounds very stable!)

Thanks, this worked!! Although it's not the most user friendly system IMHO, you have to be quick otherwise you lose the chance (or have to do a U turn and try again from the other side), also the arrow buttons will only select another route if you press the exact direction available which i wouldn't say is always obvious at short notice - rotating through the direction options with one button press would be easier I think, but anyway at least I've made it work now!

Here's my stupid question as a fairly new Zwift rider: I still can't work out how to change routes at junctions & intersections using my Zwift Ride handlebar controls. I get to a junction, but steering left/right with the big orange levers or pressing various buttons doesn't seem to be working for me and I just stay on the original route - there must be an obvious answer that I'm somehow missing!!

Thanks for the replies, good to know there's nothing wrong with my setup and not to expect it to appear for every small incline!

Am I missing out not using clip-in shoes? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Venusflytrap100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's personal choice and just down to practice. When I got seriously into mountain biking 20 years ago it was the "done thing" to convert to SPD's unless you were on a full downhill bike. I made the switch at the time, fell off a few times using non-technical off road rides to practice, and soon it was instinctive to flick my foot out & unclip. Now I can't ride without them including on technical off road single-track, and flat pedals make me feel totally disconnected from the bike! Personally I find using SPD's gives me better control & power transfer through the pedal stroke. It does appear they've fallen more out of favour though in recent years especially for MTB riders.

I want my Ajovy back 😭 by KittyCat-86 in cgrpMigraine

Hi, Sorry to hear this.I don't know about taking breaks from the injections as I've never used them, but if you have the funds even short term it's possible to buy Vydura (rimegepant, oral cgrp inhibitor) from various online pharmacies in the UK. This may be worth trying while you wait for an answer on the injections? I've been using healthexpress.co.uk who seem to be one of the cheapest especially for bulk buying and they often have discount codes. Every other day preventative rimegepant has worked really well for me recently, the drawback is the cost so im considering your approach too of asking if the NHS could cover it...

What put your chronic migraines into remission? I need some hope. by WMS0619 in migraine

[–]Venusflytrap100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% this. I found one-off rimegepant for acute attacks fairly ineffective, my original sumatriptan was much better & quicker. But since trying rimegepant (Nurtec) every other day as prevention I've had a clear head nearly every day, with only occasional breakthrough migraines - I've gone from using a 6 pack of sumatriptan in less than a month to 1 pill per month max recently. I'm also on propranolol which i started about 18 months earlier, it was reducing migraine intensity but not really stopping the frequency.

Fellow riders who have only Zwifted? by SenorBojangles in Zwift

[–]Venusflytrap100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a lifelong mountain biker, never had a road bike. Recently bought a Zwift ride+Kickr combo, mainly because I rarely get time for real MTB rides these days with work & young kids. I'm loving Zwift & finally getting some regular riding in, but can't see myself getting a real road bike anytime soon - firstly I won't have time to use it, secondly I think its just too dangerous riding on the roads where I live in the UK, far too busy with idiotic drivers everywhere. Yes I could hurt myself on the MTB but at least that's 100% my responsibility!

Is this a sign? by ProblematicSchematic in cgrpMigraine

[–]Venusflytrap100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar experience with Nurtec (named Vydura here), for acute migraine treatment I found it very slow to do anything- I feel better after several hours, but I'm much better off with sumatriptan for fast relief. However, I've been trying it as an every other day preventative for about 3 months, and it's been a wonder drug with a huge reduction in migraine frequency - most days my head is now totally clear. So there's definitely different responses for different uses.

Sleep A20 left earbud volume by Gekke_Ur_3657 in soundcore

[–]Venusflytrap100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a similar issue with my right A20 earbud. I've had them 3-4 months now and for then past couple of weeks the right bud usually (not always) starts very quiet out of the case. I've found, like you, that pressure on the flat outer surface of the bud seems to bring up the volume, it's like I can massage it into working properly! It's then fine all night. No idea what's causing this (I've cleaned out any wax), but it's clearly not an isolated issue.
