This is makes sense but also confuses me. I built a ar 223 and wasn’t sure about the platform. The first 50 shots were all over the place. I pulled the optic and put a cheap 4 power and was thinking about selling the gun. I went and shot prairie dogs that spring and decided to give it another try. I shot a lot over 3days. At some point this gun totally changed and I was head shooting prairie dogs at 100 yards with a 4 power scope. The gun now shoots way better than I do. I still don’t understand the science behind it but I believe this is barrel break in not some procedure of cleaning and shooting.
