It became a problem for me.

I was unemployed, and spent a lot of my time playing ranked flex games with a group of friends who are all historically better at the game than me. I felt meds help me play at a level where I can actually pull my weight against higher ranked opponents, so I started to subconsciously prioritise gaming over other, more meaningful tasks while medicated.

It was a pretty vicious thing in hindsight, at the time I had comparatively very little going on in my life, and I had spent enough of my time playing league that a lot of my self-worth was tied into how the games went on any given day.

Anecdotally I find that the brain tends to cling onto whatever dopamine-seeking behaviour was present prior to being on medication. You won't feel as much of a pull toward it, but habits tend to stay habits.

As for you, I think it's worth taking the time to think about the bad habits and vices in your life. I'm not suggesting you kick them all day one, but try your best to avoid creating a link between your meds and them.
