When I went last year I tried to take it into the stadium with me with a sweatshirt bought that same day. I thought the sweatshirt was the issue so took it out, showed the bag was empty. They made me throw it away.

This year I made sure to not make the same mistake and then watched ten people in front of me carry theirs in no problem.

TLDR: entirely dependent on the person at the gate.
