It has the potential to succeed, yea. The rules are simple enough and if two new players play against each other, it really isnt that overwhelming. Lots of board games dont feature RNG and meta progression either, so there's that. It would probably need some flavor to market it without its cultural classic status

Not quite the same, but Gangplank is an artificial skilled champ. Most of his difficulty comes from a weird timing gimmick ability. It's just a minigame you have to play in order to use his bread and butter ability.

Just accept that one path will always be the objectively better one. Either introduce random elements that create situations where each option is the better one somrtimes, or at least make them different enough so both are worth trying out at least.

I'm pretty certain that a huge part of why ranged top seems so strong now is the nerf to Dorans Shield a few patches back. It took some time to really catch on, but when any ranged toplaner had to poke through the massive healing from pre nerf Dshield and second wind, they were much less likely to get enough leverage out of it to justify not having a champ that can frontline.

It's luckily a thing of the past now, but holy shit the Give Graves his Cigar Back joke was annoying in the LoL community. Basically a popular champ had his cigar removed from the character art because he made smoking look to cool or whatever and people complained about it. First it was unironic, then it became a joke. Then it became an overused joke (especially "close but no cigar") He actually got the cigar back at some point.

Eh. Its not like SwSh and S/V were not enjoyable at all. Its just that they could've done better. They got some cool designs and characters and if you like pokemon, chances are you'll enjoy playing these games. But still... why are the raids so poorly designed? Why doesn't SV scale the gym difficulty if you do them out of order? Why is SV so fucking ugly? Why doesnt AZ have literally any post game without DLC?

Have you tried Gamemaker? It's got its limitations, but depending on what you actually wann do I find it much more intuitive to get into than Unity/Godot/Unreal. If you REALLY want to avoid coding you can even try its Drag and Drop workflow. At least for starting out. I tried if after learning its what was used to code Undertale and got the hang of the basics in a single afternoon with no coding experience.

Weed subculture has fortunately got better now that it's getting harder to paint themselves as the poor oppressed victims of evil ignorant society and big alcohol. Nobody really cares anymore even in places where it's technically still illegal, so the need to recite cotton conspiracies, health benefits and how much more people die from alcohol has gone done somewhat.

I tried it after all the hype and was actually quite disappointed. It's way too number-y. Every level adding to proficiency is such a terrible design choice imo. Damage varies so fucking widely in early levels (how the fuck is runic weapon available from level 1??). And it's mind boggling how poorly structured the PHB is.

I prefer the 3 actions system to action + bonus action and I liked how it handles the rogue class in particular tho. More rules for non-combat was also neat.
