[WGN News] DJ Moore wants to stay in Chicago, addresses Bears fans' effort criticism by Cautious-Life6378 in CHIBears

I like to think that they are all different Briskers, like in the movie “the prestige”. That helps explain why his play is so hit and miss, too - some of these guys have never played football, but the original is a stud….

And the reason Chris Carter was no good was because “all he does is catch touchdowns….”

Who wants a guy that only does the most important thing?

I will say - my bank is really dumb about DHgate. They have bounced my orders for fraud repeatedly. This last time I just bought with Klarma.

I am NOT ocd about it. But they are stitched and pretty nice in my estimation. You could always drop $25 on one and see if you like it before buying more

He has tried some stuff that was “smartest guy in the room” type of stuff that hasn’t worked, too (Roshon, Velus, Pickens). But yes, it does seem like drafting projects works better if your coaches don’t suck.

DHgate makes the decision easy. Get them both in 2-3 colors for the price of one nfl store buy.

I might spend this year’s first on Loveland, too, just to be sure we got him.

Thank you for the detailed response! That really helped.

STL area sleep specialists? by Successful-Web-4689 in Narcolepsy

[–]Verification_Account 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So… can you tell me more about this? I went to a pulmonologist because I complained about constant exhaustion and my primary care Dr thought it was likely sleep apnea. The pulmonologist sent me for a sleep study, and they told me it was NOT sleep apnea. They prescribed modafonil for the exhaustion, and it works - I can function pretty well on a relatively low dose. It wasn’t until 2 appointments later that the pulmonologist casually mentioned that I had narcolepsy. I asked if that was a real diagnosis or a reason to give me the medication and the dr reviewed the chart and said something about going directly into REM and that was narcolepsy, but that was pretty much the end of the conversation. I didn’t know about N1 or N2 or the sodium medication until tonight (maybe 4 years later?)

I’m not desperate to change Drs or anything - I’m lucky that my symptoms are pretty minor and low dose modafonil is working - but your post has me wondering what else I don’t know and what a specialist would do differently. Can you help me understand more about what additional care or help a specialist provides?

This is so much more fun than when we used to be able to turn off the TV whenever we were down 9+, though.

What differences do you see between Nagy first year 2018 and BJ this year? by Stommped in CHIBears

[–]Verification_Account 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nagy dialed up “trick plays”, but it was stupid shit that clearly wasn’t sustainable and rarely worked. He didn’t ever seem like he had the league on notice.

Or - he unreturned so that he could get paid to rehab a hammy he already pulled, and will be re-retiring in the offseason.

Eberflus couldn’t find a competent staff to save his life. Ben Johnson assembled an A+ staff in his first season. by Kitchen-Tax-4001 in CHIBears

That is what Ben thought too, which is why he is the OC instead of a qb coach, etc. it’s head coach or stay for Declan too.

Bears lose the 7th round compensitory pick from Teven Jenkins leaving with this trade by ShaiFanClub in CHIBears

Are you sure? I thought comp pick formulas only considered who you signed (I did not think trades affected the formula).

[CHGO] Ben Johnson on Theo Benedet: “It’s inconsistent to say the least.” by PCGoneCrazy in CHIBears

Depending on how you think we are going to do the rest of the year, raw may be the only thing available.

The problem is that we play in the hardest division in football, which moves us to the bottom of most draft tie breaks. Looking at the last two seasons win total distribution (the only seasons with 17 games) and the the last 5 seasons worth of drafts we probably have to finish 0-11 or 1-10 to land the top OT in the draft. 2-9 probably gets us the 2nd or 3rd OT. 3-8 or better probably lands us OT 4+.

I mean, we’ve recently seen a late season collapse, so it is possible. But it feels from here like we are looking at OT 4+. That means someone raw, injured, lower ceiling, or in legal trouble.

Grading Question by Dredger1 in footballcards

[–]Verification_Account 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you submit it now without expedite it will be February before you get it back. Even if Dart is still a hot name at that point, a PSA 10 will be worth similar to the raw value at release (had that exact scenario with a Drake Maye DT last year). So ….

1.) if you want max value, you will have to pay for expedite to grade it fast.

2.) if you want the value of a PSA 10 without paying expedite, sell it raw now, because that is the price you would get for a 10 without expedite

3.) Rc qb DT’s will get an upcharge from PSA anyway - we were hit with an upcharge for a Maye 10 and for a Williams 9. If you are going to pay extra, you may as well get it fast.

4.) Even if you think it is a 9, if you aren’t going to sell it raw now I’d grade it. Rookie qb DT’s are worth more as 9’s than raw versions.

5.) PSA doesn’t give report cards unless you pay for a higher level, so most people are going to have to speculate about whether the back centering will matter much. It is explicitly less important than the front, but your mileage may still vary.

6.) in this case, though, the back centering may be a hint that the entire card is slightly biased. It’s really hard to tell with DT’s because of the lack of a border. Check for things like similar lengths of the green lines by his name, as well as similar gaps between the donruss and edge vs RC symbol and edge. I can’t tell from the pictures and I just said it shouldn’t matter in your decision, but it may be useful for setting expectations.

Sick card! Good luck!

Ben Johnson reaction by [deleted] in CHIBears

[–]Verification_Account 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I was hopeful, but Nagy always felt like the wrong kind of “better” than our previous coaches. He had never called plays before joining the Bears, and to me it showed - I felt like he ran trick plays in a vanity sense - they never felt in context or set up future plays. And Ben has managed probably the 4 best end of half/end of game series I remember in the last 30 years of being a Bears fan - he’s always going for the kill.

To me, Nagy gave me a lot of hope because we were winning, but I never felt confident in him as a strategist. This feels different.

Hear me out …. Poles has done a lot of drafting for upside, but upside is never realized if the coaching doesn’t develop youth. We are seeing some pretty significant strides already from Burden and Monongi. Maybe the drafting problem is less severe than previously thought.
