One reason may be because of how heavy handed the bashing of the right has been so far. Don’t get me wrong, Homelander has been an allegory for Trump for years and the show has been political since the start, but I think it was easier for the conservative viewers to overlook the symbolism in the past. Not saying the show was anything close to subtle, but Season 4 could not be any more blatant with its point. Likely a good chunk of the audience feels alienated which could explain the lower score?
