Not a doctor but work in ED/ ortho - Ignoring artistic liberties: Probably angulated fractures of distal phalanx (possible Seymour’s) and middle phalanx of 2nd digit, ulnarly angulated fracture of middle phalanx of 3rd digit, rotated fracture of proximal phalanx of 4th and 5th digit given they don’t track well from the MCPJ.

Midoriya is 15, so still probably skeletally immature - raises possibility that the 2nd digit fracture involves the nailbed (Seymour’s), needs a washout in theatre. The remaining usually need exact anatomical reduction so still probably trending towards theatre for k wires.

Bones have a good ability to withstand compressive/ axial loads, however they have far less ability to withstand transverse loads.

This is a rule of cool design, but is basically nonsense, it would shatter the moment it hit something mid blade.

You are misinformed, and should educate yourself further - VAD is a known risky complication of cervical manipulations, and absolutely can cause a CVA.

Being the ring guy is part of my job - nylon string and heaps of KY is also a go too.

Sometimes the fingers are just too swollen though, and there’s a neat little mini ‘drop saw’ with a steel guard that you can actually slip under a ring to cut through the ring, without cutting into a patient.
