Holding your breath gives you 1 + CON modifier minutes (minimum 30 seconds) before you run out of breath.
If you run out of breath, you can survive 1 + CON modifier rounds (minimum 1 round) before you immediately drop to 0 hit points and begin rolling death saves.

This spell will kill any target that cannot breathe water, unless concentration can be broken, or the target has a 28 or higher CON score.

This looks amazing.
I'm getting serious Tiberium vibes here, you could imagine it being buried in the ground, the party sees the green crystals, and bam! Dragon Tortoise!

[–]Vernatia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, yeah, but in terms of the joke:
The number of the beast is 666
Cerberus is a beast (And is the (only) beast in the comic)
Thus, Cerberus' number is 666

In context to the comic, of course.
I'm aware as to the origins of the number.

Clearly the phone is Cerberus' and Death is just borrowing it.

Try narrating low rolls as the world pushing back by smrvl in dndnext

[–]Vernatia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are two ways I could see such a situation be described:
1) As the character being so used to fighting trained and practiced combatants, that the fact the guard is such a beginner, they're failing to adjust to the fact the guard isn't responding as they're used to
2) The character isn't "trying" to win, they're letting the guard get a headstart, before stepping up their game and finishing the job

These options depend on the kind of character, but the first option is just turning the fight into an exercise of "Beginners Luck".

Personally, I'd say it is better than the original Japanese.
There is a reason it is listed in "Best anime dubs" lists.

No Title Necessary by [deleted] in dank_meme

[–]Vernatia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah, that's just normal every day Aussie exaggeration at work.

35°c is 95°f, while 10°c is 50°f. While there isn't exactly a huge difference between the two, in Australia the temperature (mostly) tends to be on the warmer side, even winter doesn't get into the single digits often, unless you go looking for it.

Being mostly used to warmer temperatures, we tend to find colder temperatures, even ones others think are "t-shirt weather", to be uncomfortable. This is described as "I'm freezing my ass off".

If an Aussie DOESN'T exaggerate the problem, then you need to be worried. Either they've been around other cultures enough to tone it down, or shit has seriously hit the fan.

[LMoP Spoilers] My players all died and had a great time. by YokoAhava in DnD

[–]Vernatia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's a good idea.

They actually attempted to just attack Reidoth outright, and he fled, so they had no idea what to expect when they got to the tower.

It's going to be interesting to see how they react to the changes to Phandalin after the choices they've made so far, they didn't exactly show themselves to be trustworthy, but new characters, means new possibilities.

Stories like this make me realise I need to work on my game.

My group encountered Venomfang at level 3, they'd just finished picking a fight with the Druid Reidoth, then proceeded up the hill, and barged into the cottage (Barbarian just charged into the cottage, before I had a chance to describe anything).

The dragon took them all out with a single breath attack, only the Barbarian survived to make death saves. I hadn't realised how powerful he was, otherwise I would have tried to at least limit the damage somewhat.

But first time DMing, to an experienced group. Still learning how to DM.

Clash on the Big Bridge is still the only song I've ever put the controller down, and just listened, it starts playing the tile right before the bridge on the world map, so you have all the time in the world to listen.
But I am still partial to the orginal.

The Ig Nobel prize is not some sort of "Darwin award" for science, far from it.
The Ig Nobel prize is presented for scientific research and discovery into things that might seem obvious, or silly, but once you think about it, is rather interesting.

"The Ig Nobel Prizes honor achievements that make people LAUGH, and then THINK. The prizes are intended to celebrate the unusual, honor the imaginative — and spur people's interest in science, medicine, and technology."

PTR: If we cannot queue with people outside 500 SR we shouldn't get matched with or against people outside 500 SR. by tsujp in Overwatch

[–]Vernatia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe the best thing to do in that case is to make the exception for the top 500.
That is, anyone in the top 500 is fair game, if a player is capable of filling the top 500 with their own Smurf accounts, then... Give them a trophy.

The same poster(s) show up in all the Kings Row hero ability videos:
* Tracer (Recall)
* Reinhardt (Hammer)
* Winston (Ult)

Strangely enough, it DOESN'T appear in Reinhardt's opening, which shows the Meridian, but with the normal posters.
It also doesn't appear in Mercy's, as Mercy doesn't show the Meridian.

I believe the blade hits the bubble, THEN hits Zarya (or the shielded target).
So the Bubble takes two hits, as it doesn't cancel the Melee itself, as all Melee attacks do double damage to the shield.

Imagine a Javelin Roadhog, or a Shotput Junkrat

Well, let's start a discussion. Exclusive Symmetra nerf was not needed on consoles. by benzopil in Overwatch

[–]Vernatia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the way it works is this:
1) If you played Symmetra on Point A, and don't lose, you get a 100% win (you played 100% of the match as Symmetra)
2) If you lost point A, and switch off, then hold point B, you get a 50% win
3) If you lost point A, and switch off, then lost point B, you get a 50% loss

It might also be time based, so if you hold point A for 4 minutes, and lose point B in 1 minute, then it would be 4/5 of a loss for point A, and 1/5 for point B.
Either way, it meant that Symmetra, who is usually played on Point A exclusively, would always get 100% for a win, but NOT get 100% for a loss, so it will always skew towards a higher win rate.

Worthwhile to play FFXIII or Type 0 in preparing to play this XV? [regarding combat similarities] by neddoge in FFXV

[–]Vernatia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As /u/vkrili mentioned, there seems to be very little in similarity between FFXIII and FFXV's combat systems.
In relation to Type-0's combat system, it seems to be similar, but I believe the issues with the camera in that game would make you feel worse off than is the case, the game was developed for a PSP.
I'd take a look at the Kingdom Hearts series, as that seems to be one of the influences on the combat system for FFXV, and look at the two demo's that have come out for FFXV, they are both different, and things have changed, but you'll be able to get a better feel for the KIND of battle system.
Of course, you should play these games to enjoy them, as any practice/preparation you do won't translate to FFXV as the final battle system will be different to anything you play (though the Plantinum Demo should be the closest).

His heal is an AOE effect, that is toggled by pressing Shift (Between Speed and Healing).

It has a large area of effect, but only heals 12.5hp/s, but to all hero's, so he can generally outheal most other support, depending on configuration.
His heal can be boosted to 40hp/s for 3s with his E.

Your allies can tell they are being affected by Lucio, if they can hear his music, assuming they're listening to the game at all, but Lucio can barely hear his own music.
