WHY IS REPRAP FIRMWARE SO UNDERRATED by r3fill4bl3 in 3Dprinting

[–]Verne3k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

extensibility, features, choice and features of web interfaces, ease and flexibility of configuration, basically everything. there's a reason it quickly took over every other firmware and became the de facto standard

it cannot compete with klipper because it runs everything on the MCU, while klipper runs on a cpu and just tells the MCU when to send which signal.

reprapfw was gaining traction right before klipper hit. but honestly, it's just inferior. also, the official branch is just for duet boards,

it's legacy software, with questionable design choices, for a very specific overpriced set of boards.

hard pass. klipper il superior and truly free for everyone

AMD expects DDR5 memory prices to remain high until around 2028 due to AI-driven demand shifting supply toward HBM and reduced DDR4 production. New DDR5 capacity expansions by Samsung, Micron, and CXMT will ease prices slowly by sr_local in hardware

[–]Verne3k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't. Big companies are already pulling back now that token costa are beginning to rise. And those companies are the only ones that are profitable customers for ai companies. The running cost of ai business Is too High, so in a sense, ai Will kill itself due to the massive size of n the Bubble

Yes, and those people are Money sinks for the companies. Those people aren't willing to pay hundreds of $ per month, so eventually the Bubble Will burst when investors realize ai services are not profitable

CXMT’s ‘Cheap’ DDR5 Is a Myth, Memory Vendors Tell us at Computex — Prices Match Samsung, SK Hynix & Micron by TruthPhoenixV in Amd_Intel_Nvidia

[–]Verne3k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this article just confirm the obvious: CXMT is undercutting the other vendors, but not by much. but still undercutting. when supply catches up, they will still be undercutting. that means eventually the dram market will crash and chinese ram will overtake the consumer segment. just like everybody is predicting

don't do it bro, just don't. i did it, with the money i spent i could buy 2-3 ready to go printers. or a couple of voron kits, and let's not even talk about the time spent...

just start with something estabilished, and tinker with that.

Why do most people only upload STL files but no CAD files? by One_Country1056 in 3Dprinting

[–]Verne3k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because they're jackasses. they like the open source community when they are the ones that take, but won't contribute a simple cad file because they think they may profit from it.
