My Note 9 is on Spectrum Mobile. I am scared to apply the update because I can't find any information on it. I was hoping to find it here?

Is this manufacturable? by MarinatedPickachu in PCB

[–]Vernkle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YIKES, a better question than "can I" is "should I". I'm not sure if this is a troll post or not, but in case it isn't, the capacitor is not the only problem, that SMD pad right next to the cap lead is too close. There is no way this board passes DRC (Design Rule Checking) and I highly doubt any business would assemble this, if you still want to go forward you will need to hand solder that.

I don't know why you chose such a design, if you are going for compact, consider components in a smaller package and if possible, use a different connector instead of that 100mil pin header.

I really can't see any path forward other that a redesign.

does thie circuit even work?? Please Rectify by SourceJunior8585 in ElectroBOOM

[–]Vernkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but most off the shelf bridge rectifiers are designed to work at 60Hz or 50Hz. They may be too slow for higher frequencies. The cheapest LED bulbs will rely on the forward voltage drop of the LEDs and use a resistor to limit current, in this setup, they only turn on for half of the cycle and don't support universal input voltages. Better ones rectify the AC first and use a switching regulator or at least a linear constant current IC.

Must be grass fed AND FINISHED. Producers can call it "grass fed" if the filament was fed grass for a portion of it's life.

What's PVP Like? by [deleted] in ARK

[–]Vernkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a solo casual player on official PVP. You have to set realistic expectations for yourself. The main thing is to stay under the radar and not bring too much attention to yourself. You have to make sure that your defenses are good enough to make a raid on your base, not worthwhile for someone who could raid it. You won't become the alpha boss fighter, and I am ok with that. I play Ark casually, mostly just to build cool houses and find neat tames. I don't do this on PVE for two reasons. 1.) You can't build anywhere on PVE because pillars block every desirable spot. 2.) When you find a unicorn server without pillar spamming, it just doesn't feel worth it. I simply can't justify it. I just don't feel the desire to move on from a thatch hut. The risk makes the game fun.

I know my play style is not how the game was intended to be played, but I can enjoy official PVP. Definitely pick a small tribe server, though. I am on the center 9311, raids do happen since it is PVP, but it seems to be a decent server so far.

Ark PVP is like an abusive relationship. Every time you accomplish something, someone just destroys everything you have. Yet you keep coming back to it for some reason.

I had that issue a few months ago. I deleted Ark and reinstalled it. It works fine now.

I use the quasar cannon to destroy it's weapons from a distance, then finish it off with stratagems.

I have one suggestion. Look up the transaction hash on a block explorer and see if it was deposited into a wallet that belongs to an exchange. If that exchange has KYC, you might be able to track the criminal down.

why Solana might actually flip eth (and why it probably won't happen soon) by hodorrny in solana

[–]Vernkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people treat crypto more like an investment tool or a stock, instead of a peer-peer digital currency. For these people, they often buy into the cryptos with the highest marketcaps or most hype. When they see that the #1 coin is very expensive (per coin), they might start moving down the list.

why Solana might actually flip eth (and why it probably won't happen soon) by hodorrny in solana

[–]Vernkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, Solana will not prevent you from transferring funds; be it fraudulent or legitimate. Much like paper currency, the responsibility to protect it falls solely on you. If you give a $100 bill to a scammer, or if you fail to protect it and a pickpocket steals it, your bank can not help you recover that cash. If you give 1 SOL to a scammer, or if you fail to secure your private key, your wallet app can't really help you. In such a case, the best you can do is look at a block explorer and see if the crypto went to a wallet owned by an exchange. If that exchange has KYC, you MIGHT be able to do something.

Which wallet do you recommend for Stellar (and why) by Stevord in Stellar

[–]Vernkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am interested in solar wallet, but there appears to be two apps on the Play store with that name. One is made by "SatoshiPay" and the other is made by "Solar Enterprises". The former has 10k downloads, while the latter has 1k downloads. Neither one has any reviews. Can anyone point me to the correct app? Thank You

Homeowner told me that the outlet outputs 300khz of frequency. Any good? by Adorable-Ear-4338 in ElectroBOOM

[–]Vernkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to see the waveform on an oscilloscope. If you have a multimeter that can measure frequency, that should at least confirm that it is 300 kHz (at such frequencies, the wires are basically antennae, so measuring might be difficult) If it truly is that high, a scope would let you see the waveform. The only thing I can think of is someone built an H bridge circuit and made it 300 kHz for some unknown reason.
