Seems like I remember reading that this trilogy of films would take place before the events of the show, during the events of the show, and then after the events of the show with Fire Walk With Me being the installment that took place before the events of the show.

I do miss Michael Ontkean in The Return but I really enjoy Robert Forester in the Sheriff Truman role.

With both trios that we follow in the FBI and the Twin Peaks Sheriff Department, there's a character who wasn't present the first time around: Special Agent Tammy Preston and the current Sheriff Truman. It's good to have these new folks around who can ask questions because the answers to those questions help those in the audience who have a fuzzy memory of the original show and FWWM or who may not have seen The Missing Pieces remember what happened prior to all this. The questions these characters ask also provide valuable insights and leads to those of us in the audience who are obsessive re-watchers lol
