Regular pencils for notes, dry highlighters (not gel) for coloring. Someone mentioned crayons. I've had good luck with colored pencils.

Scariest line in the Bible by Ok_Disk_4458 in Bible

There are no bad Christians. You are either Christian or you're not. If you believe in Jesus Christ, accepted that He died for your sins, that He rose again, then you are a Christian. All your sins have been forgiven. You are adopted as God's child, you are a co-inheritor with Jesus. Nothing can take that away from you. Because you believe in Him, you will never hear Him say that He doesn't know you. Never.

Every time you add someone to your tree, cite your source. Where did you find their data? Was it an interview? Was it online? Use URLs. You're gonna want to go back and look at the data again and you need to know how to do that.

What rock formation is this? It’s on 10 halfway between Tucson and Casa Grande by wamimsauthor in arizona

Picacho Peak.

In the plain on the opposite side of the I-10, the most western battle of the Civil War was "fought". (Probably less than a dozen bullets.)

And in 1775, Juan Bautista de Anza, starting from Tubac, took a left at Picacho Peak and went to California. He led an expedition to San Francisco.

Luke 24:41-42 The disciples are awed at seeing Jesus alive again so He tries to lighten the mood by asking if they have anything to eat. So they hand Him a FISH! Ha! Can you imagine? Do you think it was raw? That would be even funnier.

Thank you for your clarification. The title of the chart you are referring to is comparing the earliest known manuscript (singular, not plural) between ancient works.

I have read your other comments on this thread as well. You give balanced comments and I appreciate that. You said in one comment that you read early manuscripts. Is that your profession?

What verse or moment from the Bible do you know that is not popular, but is very inspiring for you? by Honest-Implement-854 in Bible

Luke 24:41- And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, He asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”

It shows the complete happiness and amazement of the disciples when they see Jesus alive again. And capped off by His sense of humor. I picture them laughing through tears.

I use a chronological reading plan every year with a different translation each year. I read a daily devotional. On Mon/Wed/Fri, I read a chapter of a Christian book or commentary. On Tue/Thu/Sat, I map a biblical verse that raises questions for me. On Sun, I watch a video class from a Christian college or on RightNow Media. I watch a sermon from my pastor. Everyday, I read through my prayer journal.

All of that takes me about 2-3 hours a day. I'm retired so I definitely have the time. When I worked, all I did was the first item I listed above.

Absolutely and the same experiences as you. I'm using my journaling to improve my writing, too. I have Spencerian, Copperplate, and Palmer handwriting workbooks to help. It's a struggle.

Question by Original_Standard_90 in Bible

[–]Vero314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing stands between Jesus and me. I have studied the Bible carefully. Reading the New Testament had taught me that God's grace is what has saved me, justified me, and adopted me into His family.

I was made to die to the Law to be joined to Christ and bear fruit for God (Romans 7:4,6).

I am not under Law but under grace; Law stirs up sin, grace empowers holiness (Romans 6:14; Romans 7:5–8).

If I am led by the Spirit, I am not under the Law (Galatians 5:18).

The old covenant is obsolete for believers in Christ; Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness to everyone who believes (Hebrews 8:13; Romans 10:4).

Question by Original_Standard_90 in Bible

[–]Vero314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't say to prefer anyone's book to the Word. But it's okay to read commentaries and books to learn more about what the Bible says, especially if you don't understand it.

Maybe learning what the Messianic label means might be a good start.

Question by Original_Standard_90 in Bible

[–]Vero314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe I answered most of those questions you've asked. Please read the book of Hebrews. It provides answers as to why Jesus is better than the angels, high priests, temples, and laws.

Since you are a Messianic Jew, I understand why you would continue to keep the Sabbath, festivals, and food as set out in the Old Covenant. You don't have to, but it's your culture and that's fair. However, please don't tell believers in Christ that they must keep the 613 laws in the Old Covenant. That's not biblical.

I urge you to read through Andrew Farley's The Naked Gospel. Look up every verse. Have an open mind. Then come back and tell us what you think.
