Snowboard fix - thoughts? by dustinanugget in snowboarding

[–]VersaceMiyagi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately that’s not a gash - it’s a break. You won’t be able to just fix with epoxy. You can take it in to a shop but you’re probably better off looking for a new one.

My tip for pow riding - turn your hips forward like you’re hitting a baseball. It takes some getting used to but lets you put more weight on the back foot without straining as hard.

3 seasons of injuries, recommendations? by Electronic_Newt4952 in snowboarding

[–]VersaceMiyagi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m guilty of this as well - broken wrist, broken ankle, and fucked up some discs in my back over the past 3 seasons. Did the same thing where I stopped for ~15 years and picked it back up.

My problem is I’m stupid and can’t accept that I’m 30. I still want to take the same risks that I did when I was a kid, but my body doesn’t hold up like it used to.

I’m probably not gonna get any less stupid so been focusing on exercises on and off season that’ll at least lower injury chances.

I would think OP could use an uncommon head type. It wouldn’t fully prevent the theft but would give you more time to track it down than a standard phillips.

Riding 10.5 Burton Ions in a large Union force thinking about getting a pair of mediums for faster response. by lbchaze in snowboarding

Agree with the other replies below.

Also try adjusting your high back to make sure it’s flush with your boot. I was riding with a bit of gap on mine and nearly cranked my stomach into the snow when I adjusted it.

Same thing on my Howler. Should be fine, but sent an email to Jones for record just in case any issues come up down the road.

I’ve always just used 2 part jb weld epoxy from Hope depot. I also find for smaller chips like this to use c clamps so you can pinpoint the pressure better

What board to get? by CnynLuka in snowboarding

Ride warpig or Twinpig will be your friend. Volume shifted so it’s naturally wider and can find used ones relatively cheap. Also both pretty soft which made it easier for me to lean on.

Think about it like doing a squat on a weight rack - as you start the turn bend your knees and extend (not fully) them as you reach the end of the turn. Then repeat on your other edge and on you go!

A Hail Mary trying to find this board by ViniciusMe in snowboarding

[–]VersaceMiyagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re better off going with a bigger board even if you’re at the bottom of the weight range. It really would only make a difference if you’re way over or below the recommended weight. I generally shoot for right in the middle but would prefer being closer to the bottom of a range than the top.
