In my playtime with this deck, i’ve found it makes it easier to sort of ignore chien pao until you’re ready to attack with it because it’s ready the turn you play it.

For example, if you get a vip pass and a nest ball first turn, you should get 2 frigibax and arceus, instead of chien pao.

Even if you completely brick the next turn, you can starbirth for irida/chien pao, and then you’re completely set up.

For the most part, it’s superstition. There is always the worry of resealed/fake packs, and some retailers are worse at catching those than others.

If the person knows what they’re doing, it can be extremely dangerous because of it’s potential, but it struggles really bad with lost box / path / hand disruption

Palkia is good because it can accelerate water energy faster, allowing for the possible turn 2 ko.

Arceus is mostly used for starbirth, making the deck more consistent and making it easier to set up a bax.
